Shmacky-McNuts: The real reason nobody sells console games is because they are not commercially viable.
Sorry, but that doesn't jive with reality. Classic console games sell like hotcakes on the digital stores of newer consoles. I have no doubt publishers would make a killing if they brought them to PC, Mac and Linux.

Emob78: Please, NO Super Star Wars. Not again. We barely survived through them the first time on SNES. And now you're wanting us all to go through those HARD games again, this time older and slower and less capable of fast reactions? NO. Just no.
Empire was a brutal game. The first not as much but it had no password system. But Empire? Ohhhh man, my buddy and I spent hours trying to get past that goddamn swamp monster.

oh you mean the same consoles where gta 5 shifted 33 million units ?
the same consoles where the ps2 sold 155 million units and the wii 101 million units ?
the same consoles where super mario bros 3 sold 18 million units and where cod is a multi million seller each year year in and year out ?

same consoles where there are ps1 and 2 games on psn and a eshop ony for virtual console games on the nintendo side of this

those consoles right ?

apparantly you are rejecting reality and subsituting it with your own

For me it was that Tattooine speeder level in ANH. It just got harder and harder as the level went on. Plus it had a timer. Yeah, let's make Luke Skywalker save the galaxy all by himself... and add to the pressure by giving him a deadline for shits and giggles.

Weird I breezed that level. Also am I the only one loved the Mode 7 Levels?

Liar. Screenshots or it didn't happen. XD

synfresh: It's never going to happen. All nintendo console games are under their copywrite so unless GoG is going to give Nintendo kickbacks for every single emulated game, forget it. Besides, Nintendo has their own marketplace (WiiU/3DS shop) that I would think they would want to sell on there first.
Nintendo has no way to stop anyone from releasing their own games from decades ago on new platforms.

How is me running my legally bought copy of Daggerfall in dosbox under Linux piracy?

Good to know, for some reason I thought they had a vice grip hold on all those old 3rd party games - hence so few of them (mainly Squaresoft) ever being re-released afterwards.

Or running my copy of RE 2 Dual shock version (with the contest to be in the RE movie advertised on the jewel case) in psxe (since my ps3 committed sepoku)?

low rated
Emulation is not piracy. It was baptized as piracy, a good amount of time later than the years people were enjoying it for free, meanwhile sharks were making zero profits in the procedure and getting all angry and upset about.

Now, if you prefer, emulation equals piracy and still, only in the books of law, corporations and their defenders. Back then, emulation meant happy, free, retro/nostalgic gaming. Sorry, i was with the phenomenon (emulation) since the very beginning, like 14+ years ago.

Of course emulation that doesn't need a bios, has a custom made one or you bought the bios for (there are legally available Amiga games cds that come with the bios) isn't piracy, not even the emulation of a system playing a game you own on cartridge, as long as you read it out with a retrode or bought it digitally.

And then there are heaps of public domain roms of course.

No smart ass! NES, Sega Master System, old systems. This is the debate. >=P
Many of those games are available on Nintendo's Virtual Console and sell pretty well.
