MadalinStroe: I think the following issue is exactly why this thread was created:

I've been playing Book of Demons for the past 2 hours, I've unlocked over 18 achievements in-game, but GOG Galaxy reports that I have "No achievements unlocked yet".
Thank you very much for the report, it's strange because some friends have unlocked many achievements of the game, have you played with GOG Galaxy activated and staying online? If so, it's a recent bug, hopefully they'll fix it soon.

Until now, I've played the game over two sessions, in consecutive days. I started Galaxy -> selected Book of Demons -> Pressed Play. Galaxy correctly tracked my play time, but not the achievements. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong.

I might try a different game with achievements, just to make sure it isn't some other issue. Galaxy worked correctly for other games, but who knows what might have happened recently with my installation.

EDIT: And thank you for maintaining this thread!

And thank you for the help! Everything seems right with your procedure, I think I'll add the game to the list even if only as a warning, it could be a problem that has arisen with the latest updates.

I installed and played Epistory for a bit, and it quickly unlocked an achievement correctly on GOG. So, I went back to Book of Demons, and I unlocked an additional 5 achievements, and still nothing on Galaxy.

Unless somebody who owns the game can try their copy and confirm otherwise, I think something happened with Book of Demons.

Thank you again, I added the game to the list with a link to their Contact Form, if anyone wants to warn them of this problem to correct it as soon as possible!

Thanks for the link. If nobody on the GOG forums comments on this issue, confirming or denying it, I'll be sending the developers a mail sometimes in the following days.

Hi, MadalinStroe!

I'm a dev from Thing Trunk (Book of Demons). I've just checked if the achievements unlock properly and see no issues. Could you please contact us at support @ thingtrunk.com and send us your savegame?
1) press Win+R, enter path %appdata%\Return2Games_WIP21 and press enter
2) You will see a folder named GOG
3) Pack it with anything (zip, 7z, rar)
4) Finally please email it to support @ thingtrunk.com and link this thread in the email

Any additional info would be awesome (for example if you play with GoG overlay enabled, if you boot the game natively through exe file, without using GoG launcher for that, any screenshots, info about your OS, anything you think might be related somehow).

Well this is embarrassing, and exactly why I wanted to avoid contacting you directly until somebody(GOG or one of the forum users) could confirm or deny if the issue was wide spread. As it turned out, it was an issue just on my PC.

Once I received your indication that the game is working correctly on your end, I searched around and while my antivirus wasn't interfering with the game, my firewall's HIPS module did have a rule blocking some action the game was attempting. Apparently not enough to crash the game, but enough to interfere with Galaxy detecting the achievements. As soon as I removed that rule, Galaxy correctly detected the next achievement I unlocked in the game.

This has never happened to me before, so I didn't even suspect it might be something possible. Lesson learned.

I apologize for wasting your time, geb88, I had you searching for ghosts. Thank you very much for your response and help, and good luck developing the game further, or working on future "books" in the series. ;)

As you can see Alexim, it was entirely an issue on my end. Everything is now working correctly. Please remove Book of Demons from the list.

I'm happy that the problem has been solved, and I didn't expect one of the developers of Book of Demons to intervene directly, it was very professional!

There remains the question as to why the firewall specifically only interfered with this particular game. Maybe geb88 is still interested in the detailed report? In any case, it was useful to find out that the firewall can interfere with the acquisition of the achievements, it could be the case of other games on the list.

If that were the case, somebody would have commented until now that the achievements work for them, and that certain games don't deserve to be on the list. In fact I'm certain the blues keep an eye on this thread, and if a game were incorrectly labeled they would have commented on it by now. It's pretty safe to assume that the longer a game remains on the list, ensures the existence of the issue.

Awesome to hear the achievements work for you now <phew!>! No need to be sorry, we just learned something new and, it turns out, significant. Still, this is a very interesting case, we didn't receive any similar report earlier. Could you MadalinStroe tell us which antivirus caused the issues with achievements? :-)

I have Nod32 as my antivirus and Comodo Firewall as my firewall solution. The problem wasn't the antivirus, it was the HIPS(host intrusion prevention system) component of the firewall, which was preventing an action for the game. At this point I regret fixing my problem alone, because I don't know how to replicate the original issue to let you know what to look for.
Because of no reason I assumed it was an antivirus with firewall built in it. Thanks for the clarification, we will have our eye on the Comodo! :-)
For anyone that uses Avira antivirus.. I had it for a long time and it was somehow blocking majority of achievements to unlock. As soon as i switched to another antivirus, everything went back to normal. Huge thanks and shout-out to GOG support for the help.
far lone sails ver 1.06 all achievements are bug i havent tried other version yet but will try soon
