Saw a clips of this game on youtube, basically it looks like an improved version of Banished:

Still in early access, but I like what I've seen so far.

Licurg:
Is this a subtitle for the game that is (possibly / supposedly / according to the "Super Secret Lists") coming here? That almost looks like a "single player MMO" / The Guild type game? Or is it a city builder spinoff?

Also, any news (assuming it's the one I think it is) on when it's actually being released?

Finally, yes I know - I like " " and / ...

... and the hyphen.
Hi Licurg!

This place sucks without you.

There's an MMORPG with a similar name, I couldn't figure out if they're connected so far, but this is a city-builder, nothing else.

EDIT: Yeah, the two are connected, but you can play them separately. One is an MMO, the other is just a shinier version of Banished. The final product should come out this year from what I can gather from their site.

Voted, looks good.

Meh, let me vote via galaxy GOG come on already.....
Oh, I was hoping for Something along the lines of Animal Forest/Animal Crossing.

Am I the only one who wants that but not stuck to a console with no redeeming features?

is that a game?
Sure, voted, looks good. I was a little underwhelmed with Banished, would like an improved Banished.

tinyE: is that a game?
An entire series.
Wait...Licurg still posts?
I thought he'd slipped into the abyss of lurkers permanently.
It would be definitely nice to see Life is Feudal: Forrest Village here. Especially since support for Banished has been dropped and with it both upcoming Mac and Linux versions.

Licurg: ...snip
Really thought for a moment there you were 20 years out of date, The Settlers (1994) was also titled "Life Is Feudal"

Even your girlfriend?

*ba-dum-tsh*

I remember you used to be one of the frequent posters here, back when I joined the forum. Nice to see some of the "old" GOG members around here again.

As for the game, is it actually by the same dev as Banished, or just in a similar style?

Banished is made by Shining Rock Software, which is a single guy.

The Life is Feudal games (subtitled "Your Own", "MMO", and "Forest Village") are made by the development studio Bitbox Ltd, concisting of at least two people (named on the Wikipedia page about the game world), plus a few people around the world not directly working on the game (community manager and whatnot, listed on the IndieDB page).

Thanks for clarifying this. I was always curious how Life Is Feudal was going to end up here, because it was my understanding that it was an MMO. I thought *maybe* there was an "offline" mode / installer where PCs were replace by AI NPCs who would pretty much "do" the stuff other player-characters were supposed to be doing.

But it sounds like "Your Own" is its own discrete game. Curious how it will play.
