It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

CatintheHeat: But the bigger issue is the drop down menus don't work with my Google Nexus 7. I can't see any pm's at all. The only choice I get is to see my games. I use my mobile device a lot when I'm away from home.

DubConqueror: I agree with that. I've bumped into the same issues, Ijust thought it was due to my tablet or the busyness of the server that the post stays open, but apparently it's incompatibility with mobiles (or with Android) per se. It'snot abrowser-related issue, I can't access the dropdown menu for the PM's nor on Firefox nor on Chrome on my tablets, neither on the Galaxy Tab 2 nor on the Transformer TF300T.
I've also experienced this problem on my Galaxy Note using Firfefox. Occasionally, I can get the dropdown to work, but it's more luck than judgement! I also have an issue in the forums when trying to rate a post - I'll click the up-vote button but it defaults to down-vote; I even accidentally reported a post as spam that I was trying to up-vote the other day!

I'm sure this has been mentioned already, but I'll say it again just in case. -_^

I'd like to see a better search function for the GOG forum. When I try to use the current one to find words inside existing threads it doesn't always work. (Or I'm trying to use it incorrectly.)
I know all of you have important things to add, but I still can't check my "forum replies", and yes I wrote to support, cleared cache/cookies, tried with another browser, tried from 2 other computers, even made a new account . It's something strictly related to my account...

I haven't been able to do that for six months.
Soo guys.. after 400+ posts, how and when GOG will decide to improve the forums? XD

This thread is only 6 weeks old, I think we should consider this to still be the consultation phase and it could reasonably last a while longer to give everybody a chance to respond. After that the GOG management need to decide what the priorities are as well as what is possible with a sane budget for overhauling the forum. Maybe there will be some small improvements sooner rather later, but I imagine bigger changes may take many months or more. We won't know until a blue posts an update.

Sorry, I don't know where to post that but I have que question, I can't create any topic, each time I click on the button "post my message" it does nothing. This is on the Deus Ex forum ^^" I tried to make it shorter, but it won't work either. But to post on an existing topic, it works. Is that normal ^^" Thank in advance for the answer, and sorry for my bad english ^^"

Usual problems are either malformated quote tags (unlikely, since you are posting a new message) or trying to post links with a low rep. Remove any links (at least the http:// part) and try posting again.
Has anyone had issues with PMs recently?

When I post a message and check on it again in a few minutes, it isn't there. I thought I was just hitting Enter rather than clicking Send It at first but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I had such issues a few days ago, seems to have been a problem with some links. Seems like we have a spam filter in the PM system.

Every one in ten does that for me. Now I just double check to make sure it's there before I log off.

Well, must be the link ^^" I'll try again and see if it work. Thanks :)
Edit : Yep, that was the link ^^"

I'm obviously way late to this party and all, and what little criticism I have may have been touched upon, but there are a couple of things that tend to drive me a little crazy.

Probably my biggest issue is trying track long running thread changes. The first time someone posts in a thread that topic gets put in the "Topics I've participated in list." Eventually, that entry gets bumped off the list by new posts. It would be nice if this list better reflected recent activity, and not just what topic I'm new to, but what I've actually been active in. There are a few long running threads I keep an eye on, and it's much harder to follow an old topic even if you are actively participating in it. Those are very handy links, but I often find they are woefully out of sync with what I'm actually doing. Pinning selected topics would be be another way. I really don't care how to track old topics, just that there is a supplied method that works.

I would also like to see some other kind of open thread location options. The default behavior is to open a thread at the last page. I found this to be obnoxious behavior if I were to put it mildly. So adjusted my preference to default to opening threads at the first page, which I find preferable as a whole. But the second I participate in a thread I am back to being annoyed looking at a page I have no interest in. I realize this is a subjective, difficult thing to address, but I would be interested in seeing some kind of options for predictive behavior to try and guess where I might want to be. Yes I've read this thread so go to the end. No I haven't so open the first page. I've participated so, take me to my last post. something along those lines.

You can also toss me into the "search sucks" camp.

You can currently mark threads as favorites, putting them in a list right above "Topics I've Participated in" on the Community landing page. Despite this, I would agree that the list of topics you've participated in could still use a more intelligent ordering.

----------------------------------

Count me in on search being terrible. Its completely useless as is.

Full access to at least my own post history would be great. I don't personally care about seeing other users' history, but I can see it being useful as kind of a background check for giveaways and such.

I'm not a fan of the way writing a post opens a new window.

I'd like to see consistency on whether games in a series are merged into one forum or not. Most are merged, but there's a few outliers. I did see the post describing the issues with this, so it may not be worth the time. I'd still like to see it.

Whenever you get around to this overhaul, I'd like some things to stay the same. I'm a big fan of the simple appearance of the forums. No flashy themes, no garish banners, no egregious abuse of signatures (because they aren't supported). In particular, if you do decide to add support for signatures, please do not allow images in them or at the very least make very restrictive size limits. Very little is more aggravating than browsing a forum with screen-long signatures with flashing gifs and whatnot.

Are you saying you don't want it to look like Vegas? :P
I for one totally agree with you.
