Does Codemasters still hold the rights for Clive Barker's "Jericho"? For that matter, do they still release much of anything these days?

Navagon: I was about to just assume they did. But Jericho isn't on Steam so I'm not sure what the problem is there. Surely Clive Barker's name hasn't turned this into some kind of licensed property?

As to their other output, very rarely have they ever produced something that's not a racing game that's worth paying attention to. The last thing they did that I'm aware of is F1 2015 and that sucked too. So I think they're on their way out of they go on like this. Their lifeblood is racing games and their last two releases in that area have been pants.
They have dirt rally, which is in early access and has very positive steam reviews already. Furthermore, their last rally game (Proper, not counting dirt showdown.) was Dirt 3, which also has very positive reviews on steam.

What might be interesting though is that Richard Burns Rally also published in 2005 is for sale as a digital download not long after the stocks of CDROM's ran out.

To be honest, I would prefer to see Richard Burns Rally get released on GOG over a re-release of Colin McRae 2005. RBR is miles ahead any other rally sim. ;-)

There might very well be licensing issues to use specific car models or specific team rosters, even if there are no issues with with the names of the teams or car manufacturers.

So because the original license deal for one game is still active, it automatically follows that the license deal for another game which has expired suddenly somehow magically hasn't expired anyway? What have you been smoking?

Agreed, GRID (1) is still a very good game and with GRID Autosport coming to Linux very soon I'd buy that in a heartbeat. The problem with racing games is licensing issues so I hope Codemasters act before those games follow the same fate of their older titles.

I finally have a system good enough for Grid but I'm waiting on a sale. :P

Aside from Jericho, I mostly remember seeing their name on the occasional game some 10 or 20 years back. Haven't really heard of them in recent years at all, but then, I'm not a big fan of Racing games so perhaps I simply missed their releases.

As for the situation on this particular game: Folks, if you can no longer buy it online, look around for a retail copy or simply download it somewhere. Yeah, I know, piracy is the devil and kills kittens yada yada, but the way I see it, if you're willing to spend money on a copy but the publisher and distribution services no longer give you the chance to do so, I think it's fair game to look for alternative options.

( Of course, I suspect publishers of Racing and Sports games in particular don't even want you to buy their old stuff -- they want you to purchase their latest annual full price releases, featuring slightly adjusted stats and a few new visual FX. )

FlatOut 1 and 2 are still amazing though.
FlatOut 2 is one of the best Racing games I've ever played, so much fun. Somehow I couldn't quite get into GRID, though. Maybe it's more difficult, or I just suck at this kind of game, but I liked the feel and control of the cars much better in FlatOut.

R8V9F5A2: The whole issue just feels silly, I mean you can buy these games on console and play them without any of these licensing issues, yet for PC they seem to enforce these rules simply because they can.

As was SirPrimalform, in addition to digital copies. Copies/licences already produced can be sold, but they're not producing any new ones - neither physical or for download.

It was, I was just pointing out the flaw in your logic. Those copies were produced before the licence expired.
