Emachine9643: Just saw it now in the thread I made calling Bradley out. It happens
Oh, and Dolan videos and parodies of Dolan videos.

dtgreene: I was just reading a weather forecast and saw that "the" had been mistyped as "teh", and realized that I hadn't seen that particular typo in a while.

When was the last time you saw that particular typo?
Depends on if it is a typo or done on purpose. It's often done on purpose as a form of slang, as in "teh intaranets" following the style of JEFFK for example. (Not sure if he originated that but that's where I first saw it.)

zeogold: Fairfox is doing reporting now? Wow, she's really getting around.
Also, in before somebody else says "here in this thread!" or something similar.
Yeah, my first thought was "Fairfox posted about going on vacation, so I know I saw it earlier this week."
Each and every time I re-read my posts. Except for this one.
Last week or so. I was reading a serious scholarly work that, weirdly enough, had a number of typos that should've been caught by spell-checking software but was completely free of mistakes that machines don't usually catch.

And as a non-typo, I'm trying to get admitted to a university that has "teh" in its name, so it's just about everywhere.

(And no, the scholarly work from the first paragraph has nothing to do with the university, so how 'teh' and a bunch of other non-words got whitelisted in their spellchecker is a mystery.)

Way back when I was much smaller my father attempted to teach me the basics of proofreading. The teacher, on the other hand, thought it to be a useless skill because of this great new spell-check-thingy she had recently heard about. The argumeent got quite heated.
