Tallima: If you want just the base game to try, it'll be free on epic store on the 15th.
After giving it 15 hours with my GOG copy, I'd say don't waste your money, friend :D.
Jeez...quite a bit of unwarranted hate in this topic...I think this game is quite possibly the best "indie" game ever made. It is gorgeously immersive in so many ways. Also softens the blow of a certain DRM-loving publisher not bringing Skyrim here; yes, I'll say it, Kingdom Come: Deliverance > Skyrim.
Think the dislike shown towards the game is part of the reason why it's easily one of the best RPGs in the last decade or so. Very refreshing to play a game that doesn't prompt you up as 'the special one', instead your some clumsy son of a black smith whose completely incompetent at swinging a sword or firing or bow, hell, even reading.

If your idea of top level RPG is Skyrim/Witcher 3, you'll probably hate the game.

If you enjoy slow paced, rewarding systems that require you to play, rather than pick few perks from a menu, then you're in for a treat.
Has anyone got the mini movie?

He also somehow (magically) is very aware of the socio-political choices that exist as portrayed by conversation options given to the player in the opening of the game, which a person of his status would have no clue about.

Nope, the writing did not impress either. None of the systems felt vaguely realistic but all the more frustrating. And then comes the "save schnapps". *facepalm* If you have fun tangling with such an ungainly beast, more power to you. I rather spend my time with games that are actually fun to play and not a challenge for all the wrong reasons.

Mr.Mumbles: And people really ought to try it before laying down any money as people have quite divisive opinions on the game. I for one did not get on with its ridiculously slow pace and most awkward combat system.
I'd really recommend people to try it first. While I do like the atmosphere of it, the combat system is just all kinds of bad. In theory, it is a nice idea, but in practice, it feels somewhat clunky and, what is probably worse, gimmicky.

You are aware you can simply mod the save system out right? it's pretty easy to do to boot, if that makes it more smooth for you then i'd recommend it

No, the dislike shown to the game (by me at least) was because I have tried playing it a couple of times and really did t like it. It all felt clunky and slow. Maybe I did not get far enough into it to experience the amazing game you show. I did not like witcher3 either, I thought that was highly overrated and Witcher 1 was better in every way. Skyrim was ok, played it through once, as always needs lots of mods and story is nothing to write home about.
So yes, it’s possible to have an opinion on the game which differs from yours, without it being hate or dislike, or indeed fanboyism!
I will however pick up the extra content as it’s cheap, and may one day even give it another go, who knows. I have done that with some games and really liked them, others not.
I'm surprised how many DLCs are for this game.
Have just base game and not intend to buy all of that expansions for that price. Maybe someday in future :/

Best Western RPG in almost 20 years, since the first Gothic I'd say. The only other recent RPG's even in the ballpark for me are the Divinity OS games (which are totally different). I've already forgotten about The Witcher 3, yet I'll remember this one in 20 years in the same way I remember Jagged Alliance or Fallout.

Ah, Jagged Alliance. Damn nostalgia. Love it to bits.

KCD has many flaws, no doubt. Combat 1v1 is actually really good, but fails against multiple opponents. Devs bragged about realism, but we have magic potions.
There are no children in the game. Don't get me wrong, i don't want children who behave like in Skyrim, but none at all takes away from the immersion and realism.
There are still, after two years garments in the game that are broken. You see slit throates or complete detached necks from the body in every other cutscene. This is unaccatable.
The story in my opinion. doesn't hold a candle against the story in Witcher 3. KCD has many good side content, but the main story is not the games strong point.
I hope we see a more polished KCD 2, so that we can continue Henry's story and let him get his revenge. But please, no more bitches like Johanka. :P
If the devs could make combat against multiple opponents more fun, that would be great. And please, by the love of all what is holy, no more Bandits in full plate armor, or peasents who masterstrike you. It is not immersive or realistic. It is not even historically accurate.
