Fairfox: (i promise i wont make any moar threadies today/tonite)

does jumpin' on enemies in cartoony gamies ooof old so they go poooooooooooooof count as 'killin''?
do you prefer when they explode 'n' vanish with a *POOOOF CRINKLE!!!* (buuut explodier?) or when they give you teh stink eye before fallin' upside-do wwn off teh screen vertical lee? wut 'boot if they lits. get flattened? uuuh go all gory? turn ghost-y?

is one kin d moar satisfyin' than teh other?

what was teh first game taht involved this mechanic-panic? do you think it was tech limitations or amaze nu concept?

inquirin' minds... (inb4 areee not here)

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
"does jumpin' on enemies in cartoony gamies ooof old so they go poooooooooooooof count as 'killin''? " - No, no it doesn't. Nor does slicing off heads in Shadow Warrior, or carpet bombing cities in some flight sim. They are computer games, it is not real. Don't pamper to those trying to find an excuse.

Which is happening AGAIN over here right now.

Every fifteen years or so we gotta go through this shit again.

You mean pander, right?

Fairfox: ^^^ welp within teh concept of teh individual lee made game world, lets say. i wasnt tryin' to get too-too deep :P
What, you mean you don't want to sort all the worlds problems out in one thread :o) Ok, in terms of that one scenario I would say that its open to interpretation, whilst you jump on them, they might be just squashed and not killed, so its ambiguous. So no, unless you want to interpret it that way.

Can use either, pamper means: indulge with every attention, comfort, and kindness; spoil. Or you could say don't pander to them.

I know what pamper means. It's
1. Not the right word for this situation.
2. Not correct to say "don't pamper to them", you would say "don't pamper them". The fact that you put 'to' on the end is what makes me fairly certain that the word you were after was pander.

Glad you got the general thrust of the point and didn't get lost in the detail ;op

I think you two are on the same side. Calm down. :P

Man, I hate it when my friends argue with each other. Inevitably they both come to conclusion that I'm the reason, tell me to piss off, and they go out drinking together. :D

Your general point was that you can use either. My point was no, you can't.
I'd say it counts as cartoon violence. And in cartoons hardly anyone stays dead for real, no matter how brutally they "died", so the details don't really matter all that much. ;)

(The creatures will still hold a grudge against you, you big bully. Imagine someone jumping on your head! ;P)

But I really can, see in post two how I did so. You may or may not agree with that is really totally irrelevant to me.

And indeed you may. Don't ever let being wrong stop you from having fun. Except when it comes to stomping on enemies heads.

Ever play GTA 4? There is a character that talks just like that.
