So much hypocrisy in that press release...

Interplay haven't been "leading" developers or anything else in 15 years, and AFAIK the current president and his crew have never created an actual game.

Anyway, I'm not sure that any of their IPs are worth much these days since their last games came out too long ago to get much brand recognition, I think. Not many people would get excited about a potential sequel or reboot for any of the titles they own. I know I wouldn't.
I just also realized, Deep Silver/Volition could get Freespace back too.

A new game might not be in the cards but hey, they'd have their old IP back.
Please don't let EA buy it..
I'm not sure whether this is good or bad news. Anyway this was kinda predictable, at the latest since the 4th 90% bundle, especially due the lack of releases. I mean, have they released any significant games lately, apart from remasters?

My guess is that either Nordic or GOG is going to acquire them.

EDIT: Apparently, only 4 out of the 6 Interplay promos since Fall Sale 2015 were 90% bundles. But still, so many promos in such a short time period.

Next sale might be a good time to stock up...
Yeah I can see THQ Nordic snagging most of Interplay's IP and creating remastered/enhanced/anniversary editions of them for a quick buck.
Looks like I need to pickup Sacrifice.!

That would be a best case scenario, if you see the level of support they provide with Titan Quest, which they only just acquired.

Personally, I would say that if people are still thinking of getting certain Interplay titles, they should get them now, in case the new owner doesn't like seeing the game(s) on GOG.

jadeite: Atari AND Infogrames?
atari is a shuffeling zombie these days it changed hands so often its hard to keep track of it anymore

but i mean the original 70's-90's atari
and infograms when they changed their names to atari

confused yet ?

infotari ceased all functional operations as a company in 2009
though they might still be lurching around

In that case, you could also add 3D0 or Topware to that list.
