How quick the years pass as once again it is time to celebrate ' International Amiga Day ' which is held every 31st May in celebration of Jay Miner who, according to Gyorgy Dragon, was the father of the Amiga and today is his birthday! Amiga owners and Emulation users across the globe will be once again playing original Amiga games, fixing the original hardware and even giving the old girl a new look with a spruced up paint job.

So anyone had an Amiga here? Which one did you have?

I still do. I have several Amiga 500's, An A500+, 3 A1200s (one of which is converted to a tower and has an accelerator with extra ram, a 20 GB hD, a DVD Rom and a flicker fixer installed), an A2000 and an A2500.

-edit- I also have 2 A600's but they're both broken.

I still use the converted A1200 regularly for playing games and the A2500 was recently used in a (temporary) museum setup for the Blender foundation.

I'm hoping to pick up an A600 soon, but it needs repairs!

Awesome :) I bought both A600's as broken units, hoping to combine them into one working unit, but no such luck.

What kind of repairs does it need? Also, do you have any other Amigas?
I own both a A500 & A1200 floppy drives are broke on both :(

I used my amigas mainy for music making synth+midi + octamed

my fav games were eye of the beholder, ishar 2, sensible world of soccer, hired guns, monkey island

Happy Amiga day

Never had one. Never saw one.
Still have two A500, and a 600, 1000, 1200 and 2000 aswell as a CD32. The CD32 is still in use every now and then else I am using a RPi3 or WinUAE to emulate. But still using the old Competition pro joysticks via adaptor.
Had an Amiga 1000, shortly after they were first released. Later got an A500 and A1200.

Converted the 1200 to a tower with an '060 accelerator, but, unfortunately, one day it decided to fry itself. Still got the 500, but I tend to do anything Amiga-related via emulation nowadays, since the quality of the emulation is such that I can surpass my real Amigas anyway.
I did, quite a lot of them - we developed games for Amiga.
got rid of my amigas unfortunately, in favor of consoles - amiga 500 & amiga 1200 '030 8MB fast with a rather spacious hd.

One of the last games I played on a real amiga was Foundation - a really excellent strategy game, I thought.

Amiga Forever is always installed :) along with C64 Forever...

Maybe one day there will be a (nother) amiga revolution and some company will produce a cheap, quality amiga system that runs all the pc games and mac games and ... :)

I used to have an Amiga500. Awesome machine, awesome games.
Amiga 500 was my main gaming system growing up. I'd used my brother's C64 for a few years prior to that, I remember it being overwhelming going from the C64 palette to the Amiga for my favourite game at the time, Treasure Island Dizzy. :D

It was my first exposure to so many great games. IK+, Rick Dangerous, Monkey Island, Moonstone, most of the Cinemaware library. I could spend hours listing them off but it had an amazing catalogue and was my gateway to the PC a few years later.
I have two refurbished A1200s complete with CF cards and tons of games.
I originally owned an A500 and it was the most fun I have ever had gaming, the Amiga was just a magical machine.

For those in the UK who are looking to get their Amigas repaired, I am in contact with a guy who was an engineer for Commodore in the 90's and now repairs, refurbishes and sells Amigas (and other systems). He loves the machine and it shows in his work, he also sells internationally so if anyone wants his contact details just give me a pm.
I had an A500 (and even sold them for a short while, although I mainly sold C64/128's at the time). It was a great machine for its time, both for creative use and for gaming. It's what got me into 3D graphics (programming, although I did some modelling on the Amiga and bought some modelling software when I moved to PC).
I didn't have one in its heyday, but since a couple years ago I have an Amiga 500. Just a couple weeks or so ago, I also received an external floppy drive (which I've tried to replace with a Gotek USB floppy emulator, without success), Workbench 1.3, and Pinball Dreams, so I now have the possibility of using the machine.

Now, if anyone would have experience with the Gotek emulators, and flashing them with either of the Amiga firmwares (Cortex or HxC) using Linux, a bit of guidance would be appreciated (the tutorial of the Cortex firmware creator didn't help in my case).
