Ian co-founded Psygnosis and was a part of many major games including Lemmings, Wipeout, Shadow of the Beast, Colony Wars and more. Ian also was part of the team that influenced technology that led to the original Playstation.

He passed away from (as of right now) an unspecified illness.
RIP Ian. I still have my original 1991-1994 DOS collection (Lemmings + Oh No More Lemmings + annual Xmas Specials). They still stand the test of time for being one of the best platform-puzzlers ever made.

My condolences.

As for Lemmings, I'm amazed that series is not yet on GOG. Is there an IP holder issue?

havent played any of these , should i?
I'd buy all of the Lemmings games in a second. That includes Lemmings 3D, Holiday/Christmas, Winter Wonderland, and Adventures of Lomax.
Oh no, definitely a great loss.

Wasn't Lemmings made by DMA Design and just published by Psygnosis though?

Pretty sure Sony owns Lemmings now, having bought out Psygnosis years back.

How unfortunate! Sony's about as Pro-DRM as you can get, which will most likely kill any chance of GOG or Zoom Platform getting it.

^This.
And seems like Sony actively keeps it all locked up and under wraps that they actually have PC titles in their back catalogue. Almost as if it would pose a threat to or they don't want to taint their reputation by re-releasing those classic Psygnosis games.

Yeah, they bought them back in the early Playstation days, supposedly as a strategy to gain a foothold in Europe by acquiring high-profile companies in the region.

Yes, go and find Lemmings for the Amiga and Wipeout for the PS1.

Go for the European version of Wipeout, although the frame rate is lower the soundtrack is way better & it's the intended way. Also I'd recommend avoiding the DOS version ;).
Rest in Peace.
