Wishbone: If only they'd make a Warcraft II - 20th Anniversary Edition, just like they did with The Settlers II - 10th Anniversary Edition. I would play the shit out of that.
I would to. If not I am comfertable to get the CD Battle.net Edition.

Works well with Windows 7? Diablo 1 CD works well despite easily fixable color issues.

Elmofongo: So they were originally gonna be an Tactical RPG like Game?
Something like that. If you're curious, there's a bunch of pre-release screenshots and videos gathered in this thread on the Hive Workshop.

Also, I had no trouble getting Warcraft 2 BNE to work on Windows 7.

Well I almost beaten the Reign of Chaos campaign without but the problem is I caved in the battle of mount hyjal because the allied units are unhelpful.

Wishbone: Uhm, whut? Do you mean "why didn't I like Warcraft 3"?

Several reasons. I don't like the hero system, I didn't like the switch from beautiful 2D graphics to really crappy 3D graphics, and several of the missions are piss-poorly designed. They are heavily scripted, which is not in itself a bad thing, but the way they are scripted is. Basically, the only way to complete them (at least for me) is to play them over and over again until I know the scripted events by heart. "Okay, next attack will be over here, so I'd better move my defenders to that spot, so my base isn't overrun." That sort of thing.
Actually some of the most fun I had is trying to brake the scripts... There was one mission I recall I managed to win without turning the orcs to blood orcs, but unfortunately it still had a red orc in the next in between "movie".
