i'd like to start by saying that i very much appreciate you looking into this topic.

i figured that - since i broke my silence not so long ago, i may as well tell you folks about my let's play channel, since that's sort of appropriate for here.

so. the aa meeting part:

hi, everyone!
i'm lostwolfe!
i've been playing video/computer games since 1979.

though, the first real game that completely blew my mind was king's quest iii. up until then, games had been about high scores and beating my friends. king's ques iii was the first game that challenged me and got me to think about solving puzzles.

right now, i'm playing through police quest ii, but i've been through all of the [what i think of as canon] agi quest games and plan to do the same for the sci games.

if you'd like to have a look-see at what i'm doing, feel free to go here for the main channel.

from there, you can take your pick for what to watch.

i am attempting to get back into uploading once a week like i was doing before my computer blew up :P

thank you, again, for looking into this topic and thank you very much if you choose to look into my channel. i very much appreciate it.

edited: oops. my url syntax was terrible :P

You're doing an LP of Magic: The Gathering? Damn, it's been ages since I've played that. I'd start a game up but it's been so long I don't remember any card strategies worth a damn. But playing that thing was largely like modern King's Bounty - The Legend but with card battles instead of monster battles. Hilarious game, except when enemies had a way better deck.

thankyou for watching.

and yeah. i am. though, i really need to be a good lp'er and post the last couple of episodes of that ;) - they're sitting on my hard drive, but i need to edit them down to something watchable. got into some dungeons and watching someone play the same deck over and over again isn't much fun.

my plan was to run a [sierra] adventure on sunday and a non-adventure on wednesdays. and i was doing fine until my computer died ;)

will be back to posting magic this week, though.
this week's episode of magic: the gathering is up.

feel free to check it out here.

thankyou for watching:

I just subscribed to your channel and added it to my reading list in Safari as well to remind me to check in.

I laughed when I read your thread title about playing these games so we don't have to!

I had forgotten Mixed Up Mother Goose existed until seeing it on your page just now. I bought that for my small children to play when it was a new release!

Anyway, I will be popping in to have a look see. Thanks for sharing these.

i appreciate your subscribing and i hope you enjoy watching.

that particular line "i play these games so you don't have to..." is kind of a riff on the genetix slogan from space quest 5. [the actual slogan is: "we play god so you don't have to."

i really enjoyed playing mother goose. it was laid back fun without any particular stressful adventure elements - i think it is the perfect game for a kid to start enjoying adventure games with.

and you're quite welcome. thanks again for watching and thanks for the subscription. i do appreciate it.
Very nice, lostwolfe. I'm looking forward to future episodes, particularly that last boss battle.

I do have one question, though. How did you get Magic to run? I've tried with both the original and the updated version and neither cares to function properly in Win 7 64. It's running well enough under Win 98 on a virtual machine but in native Win 7 I'm lacking a bunch of text and the headlines on the cards are blank.

i'm sort of dreading that last boss battle, but we'll see how we go ;)

the version i'm using is something i dug up from the internet. i own the actual disks, and have been sort of keeping an eye on the internet exactly because of those issues you mention. have had various flavours of the "re-built" game across the years, but none of them have worked very well until this particular "fixed" version.
more police quest two. :)

we chase after jesse baines, but he gets away, so we go back and investigate cotton cove.

as always, thankyou so much for watching, folks. i very much appreciate it.

how do you chase after a suspect who may be in the area?

you waste as much time as humanly possible.

watch sonny and keith do a /maaaasssive/ slow roll in this week's episode of police quest ii:

I bookmarked your channel and subscribed, so now I can check back with your recordings to see how I should have got past that yeti (I actually know that one, but other deadly puzzles like it.) Nice collection :)

yeah. the yeti was an awkward puzzle. made even more awkward by the fact that you can only change a handful of times, and if you do it wrong, you're horrendously screwed.
i go romping through more dungeons in magic: the gathering.

there is much hilarity when i attempt a creatureless deck, crash the game and try again with very mixed success.

Any plan to do Shivers? Seems like very few people have actually done LPs of that, Sierra Chest being one of them.
