Hello everyone,

I've been thinking (DESPITE BEING FREE) why do people pay money for old games, while they can find them for free on the net?

What I mean is it more playable (no bugs, crashes etc) or is there another reason for making them pay?

Uh, because the "free" options are usually illegal?
because this "free" you speak off is illegal
breaks international copyright laws
and may or may not work or infect your system with all kinds of crap ?

id rather pay be legal and be certain my games work and i wont get invested by trojans and keyloggers

hence why i am on gog
Yes, it's illegal. And it gives me a satisfaction to actually pay money to play these, as I didn't grow up when they were around, and so it gives me kind of a sense of fulfillment I guess.

I thought so, I never d/l any of them, I always thought it was unsafe, I am so paranoid from viruses and stuff of that sort,
But if that is so, why don't they act against them?

Before I started working here, I bought games for the convenience of not having CDs and a convenient download.

You just basically stated another reason why people buy old games despite them being "free" :)
