I'm getting hit by Irma now. The outer bands have started. The next 24 hours are going to be long. At least the rains has slowed a bit for now. It seems one of the outer bands has just passed.

As for the shooting at hurricanes. No. That is total crap. I spent 13 years as an editor and videographer at a major paper here in Florida on the coast and nobody shoots at hurricanes. That is pure fake news.
The tweet may have went out as a joke or because some prankster called and asked if shooting at the hurricane would help and then forced a response. But nobody actually shoots at a hurricane or has actually done it. And don;t pull up some youtube clip from Jackass or some other idiot doing it just to be on youtube.

They said she would still be a Cat. 4 at this point. This is awesome. She is moving faster now and weakening. Best combo possible.

I lost power, but now have it back. Crazy, I didn't think I would have power back until Monday afternoon at the earliest. I am in the middle of the sh*t, although this is not as bad as a couple of hours ago. Still have 8-12 hours to go.

But FPL (Florida Power & Light) working around the clock is impressive right now. It must have been an outage spot from the grid a good bit away because it is way, way stronger than 35 mph sustained winds in this area right now. That is the max that FPL will let workers out to do work.

I'm going to regret posting this and reigniting a flame war during what is already a very trying time for many Americans throughout the south and southeast....but.

Finally have power back! First time since Sunday/night early Monday morning.

Florida is starting to come back online. we will repair (my house needs some repairs now, thankfully minor) and we will rebuild and make it better than before.

Gov. Rick Scott did an amazing job and President Trump from the very beginning declaring an Emergency prior so all resources were on stand-by and ready to go. Gov. Scott also secured help from 13 additional states.

God bless the South. Between the Cajun Navy, the guy in Georgia feeding 2,000 evacuees on the side of the Interstate and all the other people who help and donate we always bounce back better than before.

As for man-made climate change. Total BS. In the 1970s it was all Global Cooling and the coming of the next ice age. In the 1980s the whole ozone layer was going to be gone (Hollywood jumped all over that too, Hello Highlander II The Quickening), in the 1990s is was all Global Warming, now it is all man-made climate change.

And the science has shown it totally false. Man-made climate change is totally bunk.

In fact, until Hurricane Harvey made landfall a couple of weeks ago, the 12-year period between Katrina and Harvey was longest period of time in US recorded history without a hurricane making landfall in the United States ever. But oh now, two made landfall in one year lets blame pseudo/junk science. I wonder what Astrology and the Tarot cards had to say too?
