Fesin: They often don't even offer games DRM-free that are on GOG.com.
I don't know how much they try. You might be right but just because a game has a DRM-Free version doesn't mean that the developer / publisher is willing to put it in a bundle. GOG keys for example are not as cheap as Steam keys.

GOG keys might cost twice as much as Steam keys, but 2*0 is still 0. Besides, I don't think Fesin was talking about GOG keys, but rather the fact that a DRM-free version clearly exists.

yyahoo: Yeah, yeah, I'm taking a beating on this one. :) I agree that "where" doesn't work. When I suggested it, I wasn't thinking about it in the full sentence. Perhaps "whereas"? Yeah, perhaps not...

I read the sentence wrong the first time (was I the only one? it's starting to sound like it), and I was trying to come up with a way that it couldn't be misinterpreted. In the end, the only certain way I found was to separate the two statements, which I still think would have been a better choice. {shrug}

SirPrimalform: Yeah, sorry. I made that post while reading through the thread and didn't realise how many other people had already disagreed with you. >_>

If I was re-writing that sentence I'd probably swap "while" for "with some" and drop the "are" after "titles".
No problem. I don't mind getting called out as long as people are friendly about it. Cheers...

we strive to sell DRM-free games when possible

How often is often? Can you give us some examples of this often?

Seldomly in the bundles although it happened with the "Might and Magic" bundle and certain others.
Looking into the Humble Store though... there's a bloody lot Steam only which has a GoG version, I just noticed this in their big sale again.

As shitty as this region lock thing is, and it is really shitty, I kind of see this as a pretty cool step forward for Nintedo. I would love it if this became a thing and there would be more humble bundles for console games in the future. Nintendo is all over the place with the way it's organized so it's really no surprise they couldn't get both nintendo of america and europe on board at the same time.

Small baby steps and sort of wrong but it's in the right direction and I would totally encourage HIB and Nintendo to do this more often, that is I would encourage it with money if I wasn't locked out of the deal....

So this bundle gets a big "Right on" and a "Screw you" at the same time from me and I'm sort of excited to see what happens next.

This was the point I was going for in an earlier post. Yes, the region lock isn't ideal but we are dealing with a) console game and b) Nintendo. Most of the people on this forum are not the target audience for this bundle. But, there is an audience for this and it does say something of the bigger picture about games regardless of platform being introduced in bundles.
Region lock :(

Humble only can sell when they have permission.

Blame the copyright holders or publishers not Humble.
Did anyone see the Humble Explanation for this region-locked bundle, quite amusing to say the least. Apparently there are people that exclusively play games on WiiU and 3DS, but only in the countries where the bundle is available. ;)

"One of the reasons we launched the first Humble Bundle was to bring indie games to more people. We agree that region-locking is not ideal. But without it, we may not have had this opportunity to promote these great indie games on dedicated video game platforms.

Our goal is to make games as universally accessible as can be. That’s why, while we strive to sell DRM-free games when possible, we also explore services like Steam, Origin, uPlay, and now the Nintendo eShop. These services allow us to offer more games at pay-what-you-want prices while raising more money for charity and reaching more gamers. "

Was there not recently a statement from gOg (about Witcher 3) stating that "you can only buy gOg games from gOg" (or something similar...) . So I am not sure how much at fault Humble is here, and how much of it is gOg. Remember that for each gOg game sold on gOg, gOg gets 30%. While for each gOg game sold on Humble, gOg gets 0%.

They were talking about the existence of DRM free versions of games that are Steam only there, I didn't suppose they'd sell GoG keys and just used those as examples for the existence of DRM free versions, sorry about the confusion.
