Do I do or do I don't want to make a Battlenet account. Since Overwatch is the early release for the October bundle, does that mean the mystery games will also be Blizzard?

I don't think so. In june they adding only one game from Battlenet - Destiny 2.

The response to this question on Facebook was that the remainder of the games will be Steam redeemable keys (plus the seemingly obligatory "original" DRM-free game).

Making an account won't kill you. It'll pay off if you find yourself greatly enjoying the game. No harm done, despite what some nut jobs here will tell you.

Absolutely not. Blizzard is the only company that does more harm to the industry than Valve.

Why would you WANT Overwatch to constantly entice you to spend money to gamble for cosmetics? And what else is there? Blizzard hasn't made a game since '02 when they did Warcraft 3.

actually, if you look at the lootbox controversory and how at least 1 country banned them, overwatch's method for delivery (3 via 9 wins in arcade a week, one for trying a new game mode and winning, 1 per level up, and 1 event crate when you first launch during a event) plus the optional skins you get, it is one of the better examples out there. Yeah you can gamble on cosmetics but you don't have to spend money when they come easy.

I'm gonna be pausing as I do every month like this one where the early unlock(s) do(es)n't interest me.

If this had been Diablo 3 I would've gone for it. I'm a sucker for a hack&slash ARPG.

I decided to give it a try. There are a lot of new players because of the Bundle, and the cartoony avatars take my mind off more serious matters. :)

You can pass then because Diablo 3 is just an APG. The R is DEFINITELY not there.

I don't know and I don't know. But I second the notion that creating an account doesn't hurt. In the worst case, you wasted a bit of time doing it. As a general approach, compare it to alternatives (what could you do instead) and then decide to do what you like more.

I don't need meaningful choices beyond "what skill should I choose?" to consider something a Diablo-like ARPG any more than I need any choices beyond "what attack/item/spell/skill/flee option should I use?" to consider a Final Fantasy-like to be a JRPG.

You cant play overwatch without a bnet account. That's not optional.

Do you want to play Overwatch? Yes or No? That's the only relevant question
