Hi all,

My mum passed away earlier this year. Today would have been her birthday.

She was a super nice lady, the nicest person I ever met. One thing she would see to me very often was "Before you say anything ask yourself 3 questions. Is it nice? Is it necessary? Is it true? If the answer is yes to all three, then speak if not, say nothing."

I try to follow that but I basically do not. I hate to think how much meaner I would have turned out had she not been my mum. Anyway, in her honour, I am doing a giveaway.

To enter, just say something that's nice about your own mum. The competition will end in around 24 hours. To enter, just say "I'm in" and say something nice about your mum.

Well this is really generous from you,and let me start by saying I am very sorry for your loss,I know how it feels I lost my dad when I was 4,and since then my mom just struggled to be both.Yeah she can be naggy sometimes and annoying like all moms, but there is not a single person I admire more than her

PS: damn me I forgot Im not it :/

Sorry to hear about your mum. Nice to see you remember her well. The nicest thing I can say about my mom is that she did not abandon me and raised me. ;)

Not in, thanks for the giveaway though.

I really don't want to lose my mother. As the only parent figure in my house and also one of the few people that look after me for my own good, it would be bad to lose her. Plus she's nice and entertaining when given the chance, which are many.
I still live with my mum so I am staying out of this. :P
I feel sorry about your mother, please take my condolences.
Sorry for your loss. I can't remember my mother since she died when I was just a small kid so I'm kind off unable to express any fealings about her.

Eitherway not in. But thanks for you generosity.
I'm in.

Mom's really been through a lot the last few years but still tries to do as much as she can without help. Her left leg including the hip was amputated in August 2011 then dad died around a moth later (He technically died 35 days later but had been brain dead for over a week when life support was pulled.) And she still helps me take care of my own health mess while I do what I can to help with hers.

RIP

I was raised by a single mom who worked her ass off in corporate trying to provide. I didn't see her much but no matter how tired she was she always made a homecooked meal when she came home. She definatley instilled humanity in me at a very young age through her generous treatment of everyone around her. I'm a better man for it. Now thats a debt I can't hope to pay off.
I'm in.

My mom is a pretty awesome artist. She paints, does ceramics, sews, does stain glass, she illustrated a kids book. I have some of her work in my house. I am very proud of her.
My deepest condolences to you. My mother is the most precious person in the world to me. She's always treated me with kindness and understanding that I can only hope to emulate. After raising 3 kids (2 of which not even hers) in a lower-class neighborhood with both her and my father working, she's seen it all. Everything I do is in the hopes of paying her back for all she's done for me some day. I
I want absolutely nothing, but rather, I'd like to know if I can give you anything.

My condolences to your mom :)
Happy birthday to your mum. Sorry about her passing. +1 for saluting her.

My own mum never let me do less than I was able to do. I had to become a slacker on my own initiative, or lack of it. :p

Thanks. I'm in.
