mqstout: One word answer: "Better".
LOL I was coming here to post this ;) And I really enjoyed the first DA and ME.

I've mentioned this here before, but every time an Obsidian game is announced, or delayed, or pushed out of its expected release window I worry that it's going to be a glitchy bug ridden mess. But the same thing ALWAYS happens...

I love the game. For whatever reason, these guys put out sold gold in my eyes. Sure they might have issues, but they never seem to be enough to take away from the fact that I always end up sinking a huge amount of time into their stuff and loving every minute of it.

Alternatively: "They wouldn't."
Full of bugs
Buggy on release but with a great story and reaching levels of 40K and Warhammer levels of Grimdark.

Elmofongo: So curious how would they make a Mass Effect and Dragon Age game?
avatar
OneFiercePuppy: They already made a Mass Effect game. It's called Alpha Protocol, and like pretty much all their games, it was buggy on release, has been mostly fixed, and generally gets either very good reviews, or very bad ones. Not a lot of middle ground.

But, seriously, they obviously wouldn't make a ME or DA game since those IPs are wound up tight. Be glad for PoE, which is a good game, and KOTOR 2, and NWN2, and FO3-2 (New Vegas, you know what I mean).
So Alpha Protocal. Is it good?

I am well aware that the game was very buggy at release. Any patches that completely fixed the game?

darthspudius: Badly I'd assume. Bugs glitches and errors.
I assume he means you're the head designer and the peons do all the real work.

Buggy was an understatement. It's a good £3 buy but I wouldn't spend more then spare change on it. It has a boat load of good ideas badly made.

Not really, stealth is kinda bad and the hacking minigame is really annoying. But the writing is good. I haven't finished it, I think I got up to Rome before abandoning it. Not really my type of game.

Not that I'm aware of, the only "mod" I used was a thingy to increase the FOV (there's no fov settings natively).

It had some good qualities I thought. It would of been better with a lot more polish. The story as you said was quite good. Shame about the rest. I liked the idea of customisation.

Didn't meet any bugs during my last 2 playthroughs.
And much fun were had being a Magnificent Bastard in the game.
The stealth is very finicky though.

Did they finally patch it up? It's be a long time since iv played it. If they fixed a lot of stuff, i'd even recommend it.

They would most likely be very different up to the point they would not be the same games. Obsidian has very different style from Bioware. The story telling techniques are focused on different aspects. In any case, a good idea would be talking about the good things each company has done in their RPGs and comparing them. This way you can draw a line at what each of them are better and also good at.

Not sure. I think their last patch was out a long time ago.

Hm I might check it out. I will always say about these guys, love their ideas hate playing them. But if it's been patched up then might be worth another shot. :D
