I would like to update my review and rating for Sins of Solar Empire.

When I bought Sins of Solar Empire I was very unhappy with gog version, but I was patiently waiting for quite long time that IroncladGames/StardockEntertainment will solve the problems with GoG version 1.83.
When I find out that 5 months after release there was still no change with gog release and nobody was answering on oficial game forum to my questions related to problems with gog version 1.83 than I decided that I have to warn other Gogers with my review and raiting. So I created (at May 15, 2016) negative review with negative raiting to warn other gogers. Month later, out of the blue, IroncladGames/StardockEntertainment finally fixed all the issues I was unhappy with by releasing version 1.84 on gog and therefor my review/rating is not relevant anymore so I would like to change it or delete it... but I cant find a way how to do it...

Can somebody please tell me how can I edit or delete my current review and rating for the game?

On GoG you can't really delete/edit your own reviews. Al least not by yourself. I heard that raising a ticket to support about it, or getting in touch with someone from support directly, will do the trick though.
Thanks... I will try that and report back if it worked :)
I wouldn't want to open a support ticket, I used to be able to PM Judasiscariot and Songoqu, but that's no longer possibly. Is there a staff member I can PM?

I dunno about the other guy, but you can most certainly still PM Judas unless he blocked you or something.

I can't:

You cannot chat with this user due to their or your privacy settings.
EDIT: I didn't know changing contact privacy settings affects my own ability to send messages.
I'm now able to contact him and others.

(I can't reply to this thread for some reason)

I think it is because of your privacy settings. Because writing to Judas is definitely possible. But I could not open a conversation with you, so I'm guessing that is the problem. No conversation because it would not be possible to send an answer to you.
Not that it answers your question - but there does need to be a "protection" in place for editing reviews (may not apply to deleting them).

That is, part of every review where it says:

" Is this helpful to you? " [Yes] [No]

Once you have a "score" like that, altering the review would cause that score to become obsolete.

So there does have to be some kind of protection in place, to preserve the integrity of those "scores".

The contents can be changed, the rating cannot be changed sadly.

Check your PM, please :)
Is there a way to issue a ticket requesting means to change your own review? I'm so used to review systems on apple and google app stores that it never occurred to me that a review system could be set in stone like this. There should also be a warning to users that your review can never be changed at the review entry page.

I sadly gave a poor review to cyberpunk to reflect my frustration that my current rig won't be able to play this game and i will need to wait for an upgrade to a rig powerful enough to play this game on ultra settings comfortably. Nontheless, i think it is a masterpiece and all i have wanted to play since it was first revealed. I'm pretty ahocked it's getting review bombed and would love to rebalance my review to reflect my hopes for it's future.

I am also pretty certain peoples' appraisals of the game will change as new patches and dlc roll out over time. The review system should be alterable to reflect this. It's as basic a requirement as the ability to edit your own forum posts. I hope they will make it happen.

I left a one star review for CP2077 because of game breaking bugs that made it impossible to progress. After patch 1.04 was released I was able to play just fine. Like you, I also want to change my review accordingly (to 4/5 stars) but unfortunately I can't find a way to easily do so. I don't want to bug support staff about changing my review either, I'm sure they're dealing with more pressing concerns at the moment.
This really is an issue.
Especially if bad bugs will alter you experience in a bad way and these getting solved later on.
The bad review will stay.

Seeing now a thread from 2016 at the end of the year 2021 shows me, that this is intended.
I wonder why?

To prevent review bombing?
But it also prevents change of mind with patches, free included dlc (happens sometimes) and so on.
The technology level on GOG would have been shameful in the '90s.

It's like the forum, where there's no "Go to first unread", no hiding topics, no sub-forums, etc. It's literally the same since I registered my account 13 years ago.
So, of course, to modify your rating, you have to contact them directly.
I'm just surprised you can do it through email and don't have to send a carrier pigeon.

That depends.
Any person savvy enough, will take the date into account.
And I cannot express strongly enough, how many games these days are released in an unacceptable state, and these kinds of reviews stand as testaments to that, and are well deserved.

You should however, be able to add to your review, to indicate things have improved. Never delete though, as what happened happened. No sense in trying to rewrite history.
