I loved those promo. I miss them.
Lots of fun chatting here in the forums while waiting for the next game to come around.
I liked them too, but I think too many people complained about them. Boring reasons like having to go to work and stuff like that. Still, I don't see why they couldn't have one per year...it's not like there aren't enough regular sales to go around.
A couple of weeks ago I managed to stay up for 45 strait hours.

Where the hell was the sale then!?

Not enough people complaining, really.

They were a pretty resounding fuck you to people who have jobs, especially that first one where the only games I might have been interested in were at the very start of the promo when any reasonable person would have still been in bed.

A bloody stupid promo and particularly exploitative.

Happened on hour 46. You really missed out, just fantastic deals.
They were interesting. But I didn't really like them because there are always the ones you miss because of sleep and work.
I avidly disliked them. The sale will try to trick customers into buying stuff with a limited supply which tricks the brain into buying more stuff than you need. It's a sleazy way to do business - kinda like loot boxes.
Dislike the sale method, I need my sleep and like Jepsen1977 said.

1) Not all people have jobs during the office hours
2) Not all places have the same time of day
3) Not everyone is interested in same games.

You should think that as a giveaway where there are a limited number of items, rather than a normal promo.

I think that's a fun idea, even if there are some games that I will miss because of not being able to stare GOG homesite 24/7.
I'm pretty neutral on it. Given that there are a lot of games discounted at any given time, and that many games here are discounted multiple times each year, my gripes don't lie with missed opportunities.

I get why people don't like it, but we're talking games here, and discounts. Discounts come and go, the games will be here for later discounts (sure, some get pulled), and missing a particular discount isn't the end of the world. Play something else and wait for the next time it's discounted.
been years but i am keening for another
not long enough
The lack of insomnia sales is not something I will be losing much sleep over.
I never understood the appeal of them. People who have jobs, a life, etc, end up spending less whilst GOG doesn't earn that much more from everyone else to make up for that. Everything else about them just seems like an artifical time-gated restriction which defeats the whole purpose of a sale (you lower margins in order to make more on volume, not lower them then kill off that volume by locking your customers out of your store for 5hrs 50mins out of every 6hrs...)

AB2012: People who have jobs, a life, etc,
I have none of those and I still despise them. :P

Well, I have a job, but not in November. Not really.
