I think globally, when it comes to plural confusion, we all share the silliness of having
a pair of pants, or trousers, (including undergarments of all forms...) even if we only have one.

You misspelled merkin, and they don't add an S at the end because they're pubic wigs.

Maighstir: I've no idea. Matrices, indices, octopodes, crises, foci, criteria (singular form: criterion), mice, and dice seem perfectly natural to me.

Paradoks: Criteria already is in plural form.
You'd be surprised (or not) at how often I've seen criterias been written... Not to mention the forums and datas...

Matrix: there is no plural form of 'matrix' because they never made a sequel
Index: Indexerinos (if you're not into the whole brevity thing)
Octopus: Octopussies
Crisis: Crytek
Focus: focyou
Criteria: already plural
Mouse: mices
Die: Make me.
