I don't understand why the NSFW themed games has to be pushed as a priority news at every major sales .

*shrug* They also tend to showcase RPGs or classics, and it's quite clear that since they opened the gates to NSFW titles they became a niche that GOG takes interest in. There's also a question of the effects of such promotion, if advertising these titles translates in more of a sales increase than others, or even simply more engagement in general. I mean, "sex sells", and GOG has been fighting for new users and the masses at the expense of its old core audience probably since the change of name from 2012, and quite clearly since the "Good News" of 2014, so this may well be a way to sell itself to more new or otherwise unengaged users.

It is rather striking how quickly porn went from being entirely absent from GOG to becoming a major focus. I can only assume that it has become a major source of revenue for GOG, because it really feels like there's more focus on porn these days than almost any other genre. It's jarring, but hey - sex sells.
What is NSFW about Frail Hearts?

I think that's mostly because AO games are easy for GOG to acquire, since AO games are marginalized, and therefore the makers of those games are eager to have them distributed on as many stores as possible.

In contrast, high quality non-AO mainstream games are much harder for GOG to acquire, because the makers of those games sell vast quantities of them on other, mainstream stores, which therefore leaves them with much less incentive to distribute their games on GOG as well.

This leaves GOG with having the problem of a scarcity of supply of high quality new (that is, new to GOG) games that GOG can release on a regular basis.

So, GOG fills that void, in part, with these easy to acquire AO games. From GOG's point of view (I assume), filling that void, at least to some extent, with AO games, is probably more financially sensible than would be to do nothing to fill that void in any way.

In my country, Cyberpunk 2077 cost $30 full price before the sale, now during the sale it is also $30 but already with a 50% discount...and the full price is $60)
All sales are welcome. As in "all sales are born equal".
(unlikely genres interfere with each other when it comes to selling?)

-> Think the richer GoG gets the better for GoG's customers. Moral considerations not included; unlikely anyone cares anyway.

Time for the questionnaire "GoG and NSFW: you take"?

So: Neither good, nor old.
Can't imagine why they're struggling to get users.
Most good ones I already owned, but I grabbed Demon Sword Incubus out of curiosity (edit: so far it's ok).

There's people looking specifically for these. Critics should just be glad that the banner does not dominate the store front
