Earthsiege is part of Tribes? This is new to me. Loved both games.

I'd be cool if gog could release these here already fixed up and ready to play. Hunting down any potential fixes for modern OS systems is a pain.
would be cool to have it here though :D
Even the console-only games? Interesting.

Oh I agree but I'm not sure GOG thinks it'd be worth the hassle. They could potentially fix them up and sell them but then they might get some backlash for "selling freeware" or something like that.

Of course I'd be cool with seeing them simply hosting the games as freeware here (ready to run but free), but with that many free titles (no money but having to pay for support), GOG probably views that as too much of a "loss leader" (right phrase?).
Huh, I've been wanting to try Tribes: Vengeance for a while now since that was made by Irrational (before 2K later bought them out). Anyone here have experience with the single-player mode for this game?

EDIT: Tried installing the four part ISO files Tribes Vengeance comes with. You need a Serial Key, but the website Tribes Universe does not list any such key at the moment I am typing up this message.

Join Hi-Rez Studios in celebrating over twenty years of the TRIBES Universe! Below you will find links to download the legacy games in the series.
So is this going to be made permanently freeware, like the Marathon Trilogy, or only temporarily freeware like the classic Command and Conquer games?
At least now we know why Activision never released those games here; they didn't actually have the rights to them...
This is awesome news. Yay for HiRez!

Aww that's too bad. A few people have already asked for it on reddit. Let's hope for an update soon.
This is great.

More DRM-free games. Guess they're getting downloaded then burnt into DVDs.
I never played Tribes Vengeance, but I heard it was a good Unreal Tournament clone.

How about Starsiege (without "Tribes")?

http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/starsiege

Or is it included in the "Tribes" package? I seem to recall they were separate games (I should have the CDs somewhere), but Mobygames claims the European release of Starsiege included also the Tribes multiplayer. EDIT: Apparently it is included in the "Starseige: Tribes" download.

I played Earthsiege 1-2 and Starsiege (singleplayer) long time ago, I recall liking them. Pretty good Mechwarrior clones, maybe somewhat simpler (which was not necessarily a bad thing at all).

I played Starsiege Tribes 1+2 and Vengeance a lot back then. They were quite fun. Would prefer a new game with both SP and MP, though...:(
Good find.
I thought the first tribes was already free and tribes 2 was defacto free when it's online functions got shutdown.

It was like cross between UT vehicle mode and the first tribes game which was fun but some of us considered it lacking when compared to improvements in Tribes 2.
