I think it's more a reference to the giant kings in the bible. Though it's likely the giant rocks from your photograph are named after them, too, so you were kinda right anyway ;)

Nice rocks, by the way. I can understand why they would impress people enough to name them after legendary giants.

Actually in the bible, Gog and Magog are variously the names of people, lands, or nations.
The giants (or a single giant called gogmagog) are from British mythology or folklore. MaGog was named after the biblical nation and the British giant, to pair with GOG. So were the rocks, I am sure.

About the legendary figures bearing those names, though, i don't have the best sentiments exactly... Neither for those who conceived them. But that is another story.

GoG; i like the place here. And the rocks. And the inferno faction units in Heroes 3 complete. For anything other than that, eyes and blade razor sharp and shiny edgy.

Browsing through the screenshot galleries of some of the games of the current Classic Games sale I stumbled upon the following image from the game "Spycraft" also referencing both "GOG and MAGOG". (See: attachment)

Did you or anyone else noticed this one already before?
