Argh, I sometimes really hate steam. I have problems with 50% of my games and when I contact support, they almost never bother to reply. So I'm resorting to asking here. I know it's super rude, but honestly, I love GOG. I always prefer to buy my games here and only use steam for bundled games.

Anyway, my problem is that when I load a steam game on my laptop (win 8.1), the cursor is 'invisible'. When I use my mouse, I don't see the cursor moving, but it's functioning problem because when I click the left button, something will happen. I don't have any such problem playing the same game on my desktop which is running XP.

I looked online for a solution but haven't found anything that works. It is apparently nothing to do with pointer trails or the magnifier.

I have never had a problem with my GOG games. I can install them on any device and will encounter no problems.

Thanks for reading and happy new year!!

Steam has forums, but whatever. Seems like the problem is your laptop. Maybe you're running something in the background that conflicts with Steam or your games?
Try turning off the Steam Overlay on games that have this problem.
Make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card.
