Welp I noticed today while trying to log into GOGalaxy that "user" is not found when using my email.
I'm still logged on the gog site though and by checking my account settings I noticed my email and password got changed. I sent a support ticket but apparently support doesn't work on weekends, so some random guy can now use my account to download some games.
When I tried changing the email back to mine it told me to log-in which is silly since I am logged in on the site.
Am I just supposed to wait until monday without the ability to use GOGalaxy ?

Unfortunately, yeah. You'll probably want to go ahead and change the password on your email, too; especially if like so many people you only use a couple passwords for all your various things.

Silver lining is that you should still be able to play your games without using Galaxy, until you get the account problems sorted out. Make sure to keep poking blues about this come Monday, though, if nobody pops in to help you this weekend - and don't keep sending in more tickets, since when you send in a new ticket it pushes you to the end of the queue. Just PM a blue on Monday.

Couldn't harm to write a message to Firek. He helped another user with a similar problem. Not sure if he reads the messages on weekend though.

Is that now three people (that we know of) who've gotten their accounts compromised?

So is this means the GOG Galaxy client insecure ?

That's my personal guess considering this is the third hack i've read about in the past week and all three appeared to be using Galaxy. That or three coincidences.

No. You know better. Correlation != causation, and all that.

More precisely, with the (likely large) influx of new users picking up Galaxy and Witcher 3 and the otehr fairly new, AAA games that GOG has very recently released, there's bound to be both more attention, and more accounts made with very poor security. How many new accounts have been made in the last ten weeks with password equal to a simple variant of username, or with the same password on an already-compromised email account that got the notification of the account creation and such?

Sure, Galaxy could be insecure, but I've worked IT and infosec for decades, and I can tell you, humans are the greatest weakness in any computer system. Always.

Let's hope you're right.

You shouldn't be integrating humans in your computer systems.
Or maybe I should just join you, resistance is futile after all.

I was promised jetpacks. Decade after decade, I was promised jetpacks. If we can't put a rocket on a person, well, I'll build a person into a rocket. >.>

This can only end well.
