kmanitou: Cheap cash grab for old outdated formulaic games.

these rereleases are just lazy cashgrabs hire a few interns to uptade a few pixels and sell the game as brand new ones...

Looks like people couldn't even play the trilogy due to the Rockstar Launcher DRM going down.
nyehehe :D total fail
sadly the buyers wont realize they are the fools not rockstar

Outsiders: I got mixed feelings about the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, but what is really a negative point for me is the $59.99 cost. Should three games that are just updated with better graphics cost $59.99?

Before the announcement, Rockstar used to sell GTA 3, Vice City, and SA each for $9.99.

I might pick this up if Rockstar throws it on sale but I can still just play the originals. By the way, Rockstars servers are done right now so it's hard for them to sell and connect to games online.
no they shouldnt , they should cost max 10euro each and 20euro combined
just look what other games you could get for your money
8 euro for webbed or 20 euro for iscryption /timberborn
new original games

StingingVelvet: Remaster seems like a mixed bag. Some nice upgrades but also some weird changes, and the controls don't seem as modernized as I would like. Will probably wait for a deep sale or something.

It's a shame how rare it is that remasters are clear 100% improvements. I think Crysis 2 is the only one so far IMO, with maybe Bioshock 1 and 2 being kinda close.
100% agree, from what I've seen the only thing they managed to do is ruin the gritty art direction of 3 and butcher a lot of character models. Remastering a game should be more than just shoving the original into a look-good machine and then charge $60 for whatever comes out.
No, not really. Typically there's some baffling screwup that occurs that makes these alleged remasters a lesser product over their original.

Plus, "Tap button to run" has always been a stupid decision.

I watched some reviews online and a lot of people are saying that GTA 3 maybe got about 50% of the game remodeled, GTA Vice City got about 75% and SA got 90% so all the games are not a complete 100% work over.

There are also some minor bugs and technical issues and some of the original music was removed from Vice City.

And Rockstars servers are still down...

As for the price... I'm happy to say that I have never spent more than 10 dollars on a game from GOG except for Cyberpunk.
the new ones have so good graphics :D
just look at the comparison pic

They want 60 bucks for the PS4 version. I had a good chuckle from seeing that, thanks Rockstar Games :P
60 € for a completely butchered version, no thanks.

Tokyo_Bunny_8990: I thought the new Mass Effects were at least 90% improvements (loss of butt shots and one ME1 DLC making it a little short of perfect.)
Good ones, yeah. ME 2 and 3 were barely improved, but ME1 was a real remaster and a pretty good one.

JackWhite1328: Are you hyped for this remaster, guys? I personally wait for a custom RP servers so we can have fun in the online mode once again which surely should be AWESOME!
Nope. Old versions of GTA3, VC, and SA work fine from retail and Steam.

Also, looks like this game brought all of the Rockstar Launcher and those games to its knees.

So, yeah; bother me when this remaster's dirt-cheap and all of these Rockstar Launcher issues get fixed.
Plus on top of all this Take 2 has been launching a number of DMCA's against mods for the original versions of the games

https://techraptor.net/gaming/news/take-2-dmcas-gta-mods-save-file

https://techraptor.net/gaming/news/take-two-adds-gta-underground-list-killed-mods

https://techraptor.net/gaming/news/take-two-files-lawsuit-against-gta-3vice-city-reverse-engineering-project

so they clearly want to force people into the remasters.
Funny enough, looks like GTA Trilogy Remastered has all kinds of cut-content and messages from Rockstar North in there for all of these games.

This could be another reason this got pulled:
https://www.gamespot.com/articles/gta-trilogy-removed-from-pc-store-amid-claims-that-holy-grail-files-were-leaked/1100-6497977/

So, even if it ain't being used in-game....
So, are all of the music tracks even unlicensed stuff still there in the game-files?
Is Hot Coffee from SA still there in the game-files?
What else is cut-content that's there in the game-files?

Back at the Rockstar offices... Devs running around, going crazy and screaming, "Who improved the graphics for Hot Coffee instead of removing it?"
From the article listed at Gamespot above:

According to a report, if the GTA re-releases perform well, Rockstar might remaster Red Dead Redemption next. Take-Two's Karl Slatoff recently outlined Take-Two's position on remasters, saying it's all about the money.

I wouldn't mind seeing this converted over to PC since it was never released on PC.

I'd love to see RDR1 hit PC, since it was never here also.
Would be nice if I could get Vice City separate, as I've never played it. But it looks like you have to buy all three. Might wait for a sale.

And they've probably made 100 Billion in the last 5 years since they released GTA 5 and GTA Online... I really think they could go on a limb and do something nice and free....
