Tekkaman-James: Fair enough. I mean, I'm buying it either way. I just don't see how they can claim that it is HD.
Well, it would be HD, even if they just jacked up the resolution. Pretty lazy to go that route, perhaps, but at least authentic.
This was my favorite Dreamcast game after Skies of Arcadia! Hope the new version runs well in Wine...
Fantastic news, I hope GungHo will eventually be able to port all of GameArts' games. :D
Is it asgood as the first game? Im not a JRPG guy but I liked the original.
My heart skipped a beat when i read this.
Barely halfway trough the year and already one of the more expensive ones on gog for me. Dire prospects for my wallet indeed.
ill be skipping it
got the dc original
the original awfull pc port
and the ps2 port

thats enough grandia 2 for me
nice
oh my god. Awesome good news!!! thanks for sharing
PS2 emulated version is fine by me. I still have my original discs and a PC powerful enough to run it with no slowdowns.
YES! Loved Grandia 1, hopefully the new PC port doesn't suck. I remember being disappointed that the old PC port consistently crashed on my (admittedly measly) rig after a few cutscene.

I prefer the first game ever so slightly, but they're neck-and-neck in terms of quality. Not a lot has been changed in terms of the combat, lovably terrible voice acting, or general entertainment value, so it's a safe bet that liking the first will translate into liking the second a similar amount and for similar reasons.
Okay, looks like I somehow managed to hear NOTHING about this game until now. Good to see that I am not running out of classic JRPGs anytime soon.
Dual audio too? I'm interested (assuming the port is good). Hoping the first one will get released on PC too.

The first game was a JRPG with actual interesting characters. I always considering it quite unique in that regards. Rather than the emotionless emo with spikey hair. :D

Hey, spiky hair is important. Many jRPG merchants are only able to feed their families because of the large quantities of hair gel they're able to consistently move.

Ahem. The characters in 2 have different motivations and personalities so as to not retread the "I want to be an adventurer" vibe of the first game, but they seem to have been written by the same person who did the characters in 1. I don't know if they really were, but there's that sense of consistency there.
