sanscript: 2. Was this hyped up, exaggerated fearmongering?
Ancient-Red-Dragon: No, I don't think it was. Is it not a fact that GOG has been consistently losing money over the past few quarters? Unless that is untrue, then planning for GOG's demise is not fear-mongering; it's just being wise and protecting one's investments.
Ref what RWarhall wrote. It's not uncommon to "bleed" some money. It's actually quite common that a business would "bleed" once in a while because there will always be turbulence in the economic marked.
The same thing happened to Tesla; so-called "articles" spoke of armageddon and "now the end is near" about a company that they wanted to fail, and there are ALWAYS people that instantly pick it up like rednecks with pitckforks and low attention span, and tries to hype up others with the same fearmongering bs.
Fearmongering: The action of deliberately arousing public fear or alarm about a particular issue, usually unsubstantiated. Time changes, but the tune is always the same: it only creates fear and panic.
