tinyE: Did my post go over your head? :P
Apparently. Hey, I was tying my shoes, ok?

Are you asking if your shoes are properly tied?

I don't know. Put them in the desk so I can see them.

GoG wanted to get new games, sell movies, develop a client, well, enjoy!

But how will you be able to see them now that the desk's drawers are closed? What a conundrum!

JKHSawyer: Obviously this game has quite a lot of people interested in it. Even if the naysayers want to think otherwise.

PaterAlf: I know, but the same can be said about games like Braid, Thomas was Alone, or Pirates of the Carribean Online that were all rejected by GOG. Yet I don't see such an ammount of bitching and whining for any of these titles.

It's not like you can't buy Hatred DRM-free anywhere else. Just buy a copy on Desura or directly from the devs and enjoy the game. What's the problem?
I think its a case of "GOG or no buy", much like the "Steam or no buy" crowd. GOG has loyalists like Steam has.

I've come to the conclusion that this is basic human stuff, written into our genes. It comes down to experience, intelligence, and social conditioning to reprogram that part of us. Some of us haven't quite gotten past it yet, just as some haven't quite gotten past another basic human urge to cup your own farts (71% normal).

Elmofongo: This is becoming as annoying as the WOW community complaining about the lack of flying in Warlords of Dreanor.

After say the next 5 to 10 years Hatred is going to fall out of relevence. Exactly like Postal 2.
The WOW community has plenty of good reasons to complain about the conduct of Blizzard both with the flying issue and the numerous problems they created for themselves before hand. One does remember Bus Shock when the players had more balls and the forums weren't filled with shills.

Hatred looks like a run of the mill game cashing in on its controversey but GOG looks like it's censoring it for PC reasons under current circumstances.

Dave-X: I am very disappointed that GOG has decided not to offer Hatred for sale. Yes, the game is controversial, but so was showing your ankles at one point in history. For a company that goes against the grain so much with an anti-DRM movement, I find this hard to believe they don't believe in equality. People that do not like the game will not buy it. People that do will buy it. It's that simple. I will not longer purchase games through GOG until Hatred is allowed.
How do you know they have decided not to offer Hatred for sale?

I can't believe your post has been low rated. Why are there so many gamers here who hate freedom of expression? What the fuck is wrong with you people?

bad_fur_day1: You've taken a stand, I respect that. I don't see any reason why this shouldn't be sold here. Hotline Miami and Postal, yes. Hatred no. Doesn't make a lot of sense.

Not that it's super high on my wishlist, but more games are always good and other people seem to want it.
It makes no sense whatsoever. If people would use logic then they would see that Hatred is just a game and it should be sold in every store but people have abandoned logic for madness.

His argument is all over the place, he's borderline histrionic about it, and there are other threads on the same topic that are even on the front page. I didn't downrep him, but it's the kind of thing I could see myself doing. Without active moderation, it falls to the masses to sort of keep things in line, and thread spam is poor form. Downrepping someone isn't automatically a "OMG I HATE FREEDOM" wharrgarbl. Sometimes it's just a reaction to unnecessary pomp and posture.

Easy for someone who doesn't care about Hatred to say this. Why don't you put yourself in another person's shoes for a moment? Someone who enjoys games like Hatred.

There is no good reason to low rate his post. Low rating someone's post because there are other threads on the same topic? Sure, it would of been better if he just posted in one of those threads but it's not a big deal. It's not like his thread is a SPAM thread or some "Someone add me as a friend please!" thread. So I assumed people low rated his post due to insanity(hating freedom of expression).

Or, the people pushing so hard for the game's release have gone about it in such a way that it's become negative, and some people have gotten tired of it.

I doubt it's something as innocent as you say it is. In this forum, every day there are people pushing hard for this and that. But when people are pushing hard for this game, it's something "negative" and people are getting tired of it...

Maybe it's not the purpose alone, but the way it's presented. Or rather, the way in which it's being run into the ground.
(Granted, I'm pretty sure that doesn't apply to all people, since it looks like more than a few have decided that the game in question is going too far, but that's people for you.)

All the stuff with GOG in general right now comes to mind.
I'm infinitely more inclined to be supportive of a person who presents their feelings politely and rationally than I am towards someone who acts like a child throwing a tantrum.
Doesn't mean the person throwing the tantrum is lacking a valid argument or concern, but the way in which they do it makes me not want to be associated with them.

NoxTM: Does this also mean you won't make duplicate threads? As has been mentioned, there's per-lenty of Hatred threads all on the first page already. I don't even want the game but it's been tainted for me; every time I think of it I don't think of the controversy, but people making endless dupe threads.

Edit: Also, buy Nox™.
Nox shouldn't be sold in stores. It's an evil game that is full of murder and misogyny. Clearly, if you play such a game then you will turn into a murderer and a misogynist. Every day GOG sells this game, they risk their reputation as a family store!

I can understand people not wanting to associate with such people because they subscribe to the English culture of politeness but this doesn't explain all the hostility towards the supporters of this game.
