BKGaming: Honestly we could use gender symbols on the left under our names and a setting for it in the settings tab. I call many people dude, or guys, or him. Not because I think everyone here is a male, just most names sound like a male names to me even the user is female. So I can't tell. xD

dtgreene: There are two issues with this that I can see:
1. Some people do not want to reveal their gender.
2. Some people have non-binary gender identities.
You could always leave it at "unknown" or have an "Other" option... I'm simply saying an option for those who want to reveal that info.

My gender is entirely binary, being comprised of a series of 1s and 0s.

But seriously, I was ruminating just last night on the need for a gender-neutral single-person pronoun in our language. There are some good suggestions out there, and personally I favour ne/nem/ner (over the z- ones). It will take a while before one catches fire in the public consciousness 100th Monkey style, but once it does we'll look back on our gendered language as a quaint relic.
Thanks for the heads up. Keep it cool.
I think we should call anyone "hottie". That's gender neutral.

FearfulSymmetry: Don't think it matters much. If someone is particularly bothered by it they can always just correct you. :P
True I guess, it's just another one of those things I see as this forum lacking compared to like every other forum out there. xD

I can think of a few, like: asshole, fuckface... opportunities are endless.

There actually used to be a gender option with lots of choices. I remember when I first registered choosing "Jedi" as my gender (yes, that was one of the options).
I hope this is related to fixing the forum. No, not "fixing" the forum then "Listening To Our Feedback™", just fixing the forum. :p
Maintenance, thank goodness!

No, really, good to see evidence of GOG working on the website.

I don't think calling random guy a hottie would be a good idea. You easily lose a tooth or two ; )
