There ARE things that can be fixed, but on the whole, you guys are doing awesome. Galaxy is a GREAT client and you are just improving it.

Thank you for your work!

That sure is some language. And you're bringing politics all on top of this. You unleashed a wild beast on yourself just by bringing politics into what, you praising GOG?

My stance of GOG is that they're indeed doing awesome, but there are some things that one shouldn't turn a blind eye on and always keep under watch. And they're. Plenty. The curation sometimes missing, sometimes GOG blatantly adding games that shouldn't be on the store due to their mocking nature (hi Armadello), the way the new Galaxy installers are handled.

And if Galaxy was so awesome, why am I not using it? Clearly I have one installer of it and one game installer containing it. Even with it installed, I still had no incentive to launch my games through it. Clearly stability of the client is debatable, and it uses up to 5 or 6 different processes when launched. Downloading game installers is also a pain with it, whereas the GOG Downloader does it wonderfully. Clearly there's a lot left to be desired.

So when you're insulting everyone saying the same things...you're only unleashing a beast on yourself. You will be unable to control it.

What a wonderful, intelligent, respectful way to say what you want.
I look forward to this thread being either spam-deleted or removed by the staff and then you coming back to complain that this proves that people are being a bunch of whiny babies rather than acknowledge the fact that you were just rude.
Imagine, just imagine for a moment, making a thread that says something like "Despite all the hate that you've received, I just wish to let you at GOG know that I and many others appreciate the hard work you're doing. While there are things that could use improvement, you've done a fantastic job with the Galaxy client and remain my favorite store. Please don't be discouraged by the sea of negative comments and carry on!"
But no. You didn't. Not to mention on top of all that the fact that nobody's actually complained about Galaxy itself. In fact, people HAVE said it's a great client. The complaints have been about its implementation, but you didn't even bother to learn about that, instead taking the knee-jerk "THE HORROR!" reaction that you accuse so many people (and, to be fair, your accusations are true) of having to Galaxy.

How comforting to see the community is at least consistent.

itchy01ca01: barring certain subjects.
What subjects?

As for GOG, I vote with my wallet.
I would use and open games through the client more, but...

- Most of the features (FPS counter and screenshots) that I'm interested in are restricted to games that support the overlay.
- The FPS counter (unless they changed that recently) can only be seen when opening up the overlay.

Haven't messed around with the time tracking feature since the "Beta" with the exception of Gwent since it didn't really seem to work with certain titles, so I don't really have anything to say about that. Nowadays it's just running in the background to download games and updates, and that's about it. Pretty underwhelming from my experience.

Well to be fair some of these features need an overlay, can't show a fps in-game without some form of an overlay to display it. Screenshots could probably work without it though.

This was changed but it's currently only available via beta updates. Should roll out to everyone soon.

Shh, you're not supposed to admit that you're trolling when you're doing it. You'll have to start over now.

Well if you cannot be bothered to then I cannot be bothered to argue in any way other than -1 everything you post, the fact that this is on the internet changes nothing, you're still talking to real people. Congratulations you've just made yourself look like a 4 year old.

Good day, sir!

And in addition, Afterburner does the screenshots and the FPS counter (when I need it) without even needing a client. Even less of a reason to use Galaxy actually.
Yep, your doing fine GOG

Is that by choice, or necessity? o.O
Galaxy is superb! Its embedded into installer and its not available for Linux. Gladly GOG has at least partially listened to community and removed it from "classic" installers, which means more overhead to GOG maintainer team and chance of forgetting update. Superb!

If I were in GOG's shoes, I would throw the Galaxy away.
Concentrate on the Website. Provide just an additional library (100-10kb), which is called by game to authenticate with the Website to verify credentials for whatever networking. No need for additional installer, no new bugs, website would receive attention and all platforms would be included.
