I agree. I also think that Gog should sell Commandos 1-3 again to German users (not just the remake of Commandos 1), I seriously doubt there could be any legal issues because of the swastikas in the game. imo Gog is over-cautious here.

I could be wrong but in regards to the original Commandos' the ball's still in Kalypso's court and whether or not they pay the fee for re-submitting/re-rating Commandos 1-3 at the Bundesprüfstelle, this time around with due regard to the Sozialadäquanzklausel during the re-evaluation.
Considering that Kalypso seems to be fine with retroactively scrubbing any and every reference to the Axis powers from a game where you fight said Axis powers I guess that's not going to happen anytime soon.

You made me look it up, and wow, the English version of the original Commandos was actually indiziert in 1999. I hadn't known that, had always assumed the German version was just censored to prevent any legal trouble, but that this was actually over-cautious by the Commandos devs. Absolutely ridiculous. And unfortunately you're probably right that Kalypso has no interest in contesting that decision, given the character of their remaster.
