andreasaspenberg2: other similar shops does it after all so why not gog?
Would be nice, but seems to me that Paysafecard is available in Norway too, so just use that, and you can use it for other places that accept it too, unlike GOG Wallet funds. Plus that, albeit at the cost of a small conversion fee, you can use it to pay in other supported currencies as well, while GOG Wallet funds are separate per currency, so you couldn't even use them to pay in another currency here (if they fall behind in updating exchange rate and doing so becomes noticeably more favorable).

tinyE: Hmmm, lets see....

I got three Keane's. What do I win?
About five to ten years.

Tauto: Thanks. We have gift cards everywhere, even a build up on the pokies and off to the credit card machine and cash in for a Woolies card or something similar. In saying that it takes about 2k through the pokies to get a hundred credit.
Pokies?

And... you still have Woolies? Damn you!

RedRabbitRun: Gift cards could be a really nice addition, though ...
Yup. Maybe GOG can sell them next to CP2077 in stores.
As others already said, just use paysafecard, simple as that.

Sachys: Pokies?
Pokies = Aussie / NZ slang for poker / slot machines.

I haven't personally seen paysafe cards over here (AU), but there are alternatives. I've used a reloadable prepaid Visa credit card I got from the post office over here. Worked like a charm on GOG, Humble and (dare I say it) Epic.

But I mean a gift card would be fantastic if GOG ever went that way, especially for those times you want a quick gift idea for friends/family.

People made no fun of you (well, not to an unreasonable degree), they simply told you, that there is already a widespread alternative available to your suggestion.

They seem to say they're around.
then what is the alternative?

andreasaspenberg2: then what is the alternative?
Um, have you read the replies?

How long did that post take? :P
Huh. I suppose they are available. I haven't seen them prominently displayed though. Thanks for that. I'll keep it in mind should I need to change to something different in the future, but my prepaid Visa is working for me right now and it's pretty flexible.

A few minutes...

Not sure what they'd be prominently displaying, but over here there are lots of payment machines where you can pay bills, buy concert tickets, pay for games or online orders, get these cards and a number of other things. (Only issue is that they just take cash bills, don't give cash change, and any change is in the form of a code that can be used to pay something else later at a similar machine, so fine for these things, with set values, but those paying bills tend to need to round up and be left with such codes for the change.) Some will also have the PSC logo on them among those of other things, otherwise you can find it among the options when you use the machine. Apparently under online payments (so not the more intuitive "gift cards and games") at least for some.

RedRabbitRun: If scratchcards is what was meant, I suspect that would not really be in keeping with GOG's pro-consumer direction. It would be a bit like the storefront equivalent of lootboxes.

Gift cards could be a really nice addition, though ...
If they are supposed to be like the ones I see around these parts for many other games or stores (including steam) it is not like a lootbox because you don't get an unknown value. You buy a card already knowing what it will be worth.

You only have to scratch it because the code is protected by a thin layer of paint to keep people from entering codes on display at the store without buying.

I don't know much about the paysafe cards that other users have been touting to say whether they are an adequate alternative, tho. I don't think we have these here? Or maybe we do and they're just called by other name.

They say you should, at least in some cities. It found stuff when I searched for Manaus, Belem or Brasilia. Not for the other larger cities though, no idea whether bug or really not sold there.
