kohlrak: Presumably, God would have created the flaws on purpose, presumably to introduce purpose.
Duh.

Of course if everything was created by one single God, world and human flaws were also created by him. The question - what is flaw and what is not.

kohlrak: I can't tell you that you must obey the law or you'll go to jail, if there first isn't a jail, right? Sure, maybe i'd have to make the laws before the jail
Actually, that's my point. First come laws and only then you make jail, police and the court to enforce them. And in case of God's punishment you don't even know yourself if jail exist. You just believe it does.

kohlrak: So morality is might is right? That is certainly how he lived his life.
Was he? I really doubt that he could control his entire army without establishing some ground rules that even he himself would obey.

avatar
kohlrak: morality not having objectivity, which, in turn, implies that there is no right or wrong morality, either, which, as far as i can tell, entirely defeats the purpose
What purpose?

avatar
kohlrak: hence all the nihilo-hedonism today, as it's essentially a rejection of morality
Is it? As far as I can tell SJWism is exactly about emposing morality on people

avatar
kohlrak: hypocrisy isn't immoral if there is no objective morality
Hypocrisy is by definition pretending to be moral. If there is no established morality in society there can't be hypocrisy.

kohlrak: Conservatives believe in freedom to allow gender roles not to enforce them.
Huh?

I could also point out that Morrowind is definitely *not* conservative when it comes to game mechanics; early on you can get some scrolls that temporarily boost a certain skill by 1,000 (when the normal cap is 100); the effect of a skill that high is quite spectacular and would not fit in the more conservative gameplay design of later games in the series. (Note that, here, I am using "conservative" to mean something different from its meaning in politics.)

kohlrak: I love that freedom, really.
I'm thinking I might make a topic about this aspect of game design.

kohlrak: The most conservative game on GOG would probably be Morrowind or Oblivion, from what I can tell.
avatar
dtgreene: Except that:
* Morrowind and Oblivion do allow you to choose to play a female character instead of a male one; a conservative game woud likely not let you make a choice (possibly with some BS reason).
* Morrowind and Oblivion have some darker-skinned races that you can choose to play. In fact, in Morrowind the default race is dark-skinned, and I believe you start as such race before you get to the point where you choose the race (though you are unlikely to notice because third-person view isn't available at that early stage of the game).
Good news!

In Grimoire, you can play as a female character! Multiple female characters, in fact! You can choose from a multitude of races: human, barrower, feyfolk, naga, rhattu, arorb, vamphyr, drow, wolfin, saurian, drake, leonar, durendil and giant.

Grimoire doesn't discriminate, so it won't default one way or the other. A portrait is either picked at random or can be selected by the player (with none of the portraits being given any preferential treatment).

If you want a truly progressive game on gog, vote Grimoire!

Do you get to choose if your character wears a red or blue MAGA hat? :D

To answer your question: no. Why do you waste so much time hating on a game you have no personal interest in?
Don't y'all get tired?

However Cleve Blakemore appears at your house to bash you to a pulp with a baseball bat if you do. Players have complained about that. It should be fixed in the next patch.

Well, we hit Shitshow bingo. Politics, religion, and nuts arguing nonsense about both on both sides of the coin. All because of a mediocre game that didn't come here. Could you imagine the level of shit it would reach if the game DID come here?

Your reply makes it look like I posted that.

Blakemore getting banned from the gog forums would have been hilarious though.

It also would have been impossible. Kick him, you need to kick half of the people in here.
