carnival73: Lesson I'm learning here is that I waste to god damned much money on games.

I'm no longer being respected.
If you want to buy GOG's game, buy it directly from GOG - there is NO official word of GOG's cooperation with any known resellers. If you think the price is too high then wait for sale.

So you got screwed by a third party reseller that was probably just selling you the results of clicking refresh on a keygen and now that's all EVIL, EVIL, EVIL GOG's fault?

Obviously.

I'd imagine that the reason you didn't get a heads up is because you're far from being the only person to be scammed in this way.

carnival73: I'm going to stop buying shit period.

Sounds like a hobby only for the rich.
So you bought that key from a reseller that likely used fraudulent methods (such as stolen credit cards) to buy that key and now you blame the hobby??

Even if it wasn't against GOG's TOS, did you even consider why that key would be cheaper through a 3rd party reseller than on GOG? Why would someone legally acquire that key and then sell it for a cheaper price than has ever been registered here? Learn from your mistake and stop trying to find blame elsewhere.

Basically.. you got screwed on Kinguin.
It's not Gog's fault.
Sorry man.

Quickly report it to the reseller and get a refund.
Well it happens when keys are brought by fraud or stolen credit card.
Also its against gog policies to sell gift keys.
A friend brought PoE for me and it didn't lasted for too long.
Lucky for him he got a refund from grey market reseller.
So don't try these stunts again.
If you desperately want a game then wait for sale and buy it from here.

Remember: GoG.com has no branches.

carnival73: The gifter has tried with no results (didn't purchase that 'security' thing)

It just seems a bit Lawful-Evil/Self Righteous not to give a heads up

As if "I should have come from a rich enough family to know better than to purchase from such underminding mendicants"

As all businesses do, looks like GOG fill it's britches past bursting point.

So between here and Steam there is no longer a lesser evil.

budejovice: You've been here long enough to know better than to buy from shady dudes in back alleys. Buy from GOG with your own credit card and this isn't going to happen.

Sorry dude, but the attitude is uncalled for, especially when you're 100% in the wrong and it was gently pointed out to you by kind people.

Consider this your OFFICIAL NOTICE: Don't buy shit with other people's credit cards or from people who use other people's credit cards.
I happen to agree with him that they ought to at least post a notice that it was removed. Especially when you consider all the times that games just disappear from people's accounts due to bugs. Having a notice that it was removed would go a long way towards identifying whether or not it was an intentional removal.

I've got over 200 games and even just noticing if a game isn't there is rather unlikely unless I want to play it right now. By the time I notice a game is missing, it could be months.

Well, sure. I have zero problems with this. It would make sense and wouldn't be tough and would eliminate some of these threads. But the tone made it kind of easy to just gloss right over any reasonable point he had to make. :)
Those cheap prices on new expensive games are honeytrap.
Its not gog fault that your game is gone infact gog is doing its work quiet well.
Its the problem with grey market reseller.
Also I can guarantee that before buying it you read steam gamers review about that website.

"I never got a problem with them"
"I always buy my games from there"
"They are legit reseller"
blah blah blah

Its all bullshit.
Just because you got lucky few times doesn't makes that game legal.
Dont fall for those reviews.

One other thing: If you purchased the game with a credit card, it has been removed, and the seller won't give you a refund, you can, as a last resort, request a chargeback from your credit card company.

I would only consider this as a last resort, as sellers do not appreciate getting chargebacks.

If you buy a concert ticket that turns out to be fake from a ticket shark and the venue turns you away, do you get mad at the venue instead of the ticket shark?

I should've taken up cocaine instead.

Usually moon phases are to blame, and crickets.
