samuraigaiden: First of all SJWs isn't even a real thing. People have different opinions on all subject matters and diversity of opinion is a fundamental part of a healthy society. When someone uses a word like SJWs to label anyone who either disagrees with them or is remotely associated with a ideas they don't like, what that person is doing is trying to stop any form of debate. The result is - and we see this all the time on social media - people only preaching to the choir and any for of dissent turning into a barrage of insults.
Who benefits from this? Who benefits from people only listening to what they preemptively agree with and ignoring anything outside their "box"?
This is pretty much true. SJW is to some people what Fascist is to the people they disagree with. It's a generalization meant to be an insult based on having a poor grasp of the opposing persons position. It's a lazy insult designed to avoid discourse, cause discourse may prove you wrong or prove that issues are more complicated than you think they are. Who benefits from this? Who benefits from people only listening to what they preemptively agree with and ignoring anything outside their "box"?
Funny it seems you posted this just as I was posting essentially the same comment.
