In other news, ZFR got quite the earful from me as the final role list came out. SK, vig shot, 3 mafia, and I'm over here with my kill-less vanilla self.

During last Night ZFR really had me going, hinting that the game would be all but over in the Morning. Naturally I was thinking along the lines of "one scum vigged, the other copped" so I was rather pleasantly surprised when the Day came. :P

Still, we deserved a bit of luck after the first two nights!

Given all the people who were under suspicion, I thought no way dedo or Pooka would be lynched. When Bookwyrm made his post (and after the posts by dedo and Pooka which I thought gave them away) I changed my mind, but Mafia managed to come back nicely.

...that is, if I'm not all the over place IRL the next Day.

Wait, the game is already over? When I made my post, I didn't think there was a page 22 (at 50 posts per page) yet!

Anyways...gogtrial, heh. You mentioned prior in a list of points that if I was sucm, there was a chance of deliberate pocketing. Well, I thought we should consider you at one point when dedo kicked in and said you were barking on the wrong doors. So we kept you to keep barking on them...the pocketing just grew with how fascinated you were with my summary posts (I will get back to that in a moment)

Glad to have played with you! If not for you, I would have fallen on my own especially if Wyrm was a lot more powerful with his case, which had a reaaaaaally big chance of happening.

Speaking of my play, I was playing as if I were Town during the day, but secretly collecting some notes to use for the Nights. You should read the scumchats when you get the chance, lots of interesting exchanges with me and dedo (and SPF on N1), talks about playing with fathers, etc. But I'll explain some of the nights because why not?

N1: We weren't sure who to nightkill. I thought of gogtrial at first but letting him live as well as letting him believe I was on his side and thus make me look good even if the suspicious trent and wyrm kept their case on me was pretty much the winning move in this game and I'm glad we didn't go for it. The goal was to make a nightkill that made sense from a scummy scene perspective, but eventually thought of GameRager (who dedo thought was bad-mannered to nightkill him on his first game in ages), and finally agentcarr (yes, SPF shot agentcarr, and agentcarr shot SPF). Given agentcarr's potency at effectively making us handicapped for the rest of the game, I'm glad we got rid of him even in the wake of the next Night. I forgot the roleblock target that day, possibly it was trent.

N2: We saw bookwyrm becoming even more of a nuisance (we were right in that area) and feared gogtrial might be cop. By then the points were raised that trent could also be cop, but we chose to settle on nightkilling bookwyrm and roleblocking gogtrial. How futile the roleblock AND the nightkill was, and I got to admire trent for actually figuring out our real target....come to think of it, that says a lot about my doctors theory.

N3: We were devastated from the previous Night, but remembered that trent had a lot of trust for GameRager for some reason and that got him pegged as Cop, so we nightkilled him (effectively my first night kill as scum: you get the honor trent ;) ), and by that point we reduced the possible pool of power roles to...I forget. Bookwyrm again? Seems like it............but then Day 4 started with a surprise, for Joe was dead...and thus, TWO DOCTORS HAVE FALLEN. I was secretly ecstatic. I'm forever grateful for this, Microfish. Dedo and I just needed that one last push to mislynch a townie, and it just so happened that I compiled a couple of notes about flub (where I claim that his multiple claims and names are WIFOM for scum and we should avoid him due to high risk), so I grabbed them and gave them a town spin.


I must admit that my play style as Mafia was almost like Icarus. During Day 4, with having bookwyrm and flub (and a willing-to-bus dedo), I felt I was so high up. So close to the corona that I would burn if I got any closer. Thankfully, Microfish saved me again by putting flub as the consensus (I was going to put him as the consensus first but Micro ninja'd me), and all it got was for bookwyrm, our most feared opponent, to vote flub. There. We won. Thanks, Micro and Bookwyrm.

Got to admit that the play style worked for me. This is my third Mafia game and I made it to the end alive by being as much of a Townie as possible. I could have easily just joined the blotunga wagon but decided to stick with scene in order to earn me town points by being one of the few to be townreading blotunga. The GameRager thing was also an easy way to get a Townie lynched without much effort other than calling him out for obvious anti-town play.

What about you guys? What did you think of my play style? Where did I blunder and where did I excel, in your opinion?

Bookwyrm, you were really close to nailing me even in the face of gogtrial's defenses. I also admire that you didn't hold back a bit, but maybe you should have gone all out.

We actually were scared on Trent being a Cop on the previous night. On N3 we were deliberately gunning for the Doctor and Trent was a an educated guess towards that purpose.
