Today i was going to download and install a game i have bought a couple of months ago, using a traditional installer. I clicked the thumbnail and couldn't believe my own eyes for a moment. The footnote below installation package links now reads: "The above installer includes GOG Galaxy client for the full experience and the best support of all features for the game, including: auto-updates, achievements, overlay. "
For a moment i thought to myself, "okay, that's probably just an option, as it's always been on GoG, why wouldn't it? I must have overlooked the button to change it back to normal installer..." To my surprise, it turns out that I was horribly wrong. At the time of purchase this title (The Witcher 3) was provided without Galaxy, and it was completely up to the user whether or not to download it. Now, i have no choice, but agree with it and install through this client (which i don't need, and won't be needing it, ever, period. I paid for a game without any clients attached, that's why i bought it on GoG in the first place. This isn't the case anymore. It's basically like saying, "Ok, you better download the game ASAP if you don't want "nice features" added later" Where's my customer's right to get the product i paid for in the form i also paid for (yeah, I know i didn't really pay for the delivery method itself, just the licence to install the product, but it's still not a fair game to take the choice back from me and basically be like "either get it through Galaxy or GTFO". I started skimming through installation pages of other games i bought, and imagine my disappointment, when i saw that many of them aren't available by other means that via Galaxy anymore. I'm absolutely displeased with this, and either want my money back, or an option to revert to classic offline installers.
