GOG GALAXY gets a new batch of features to customize your experience with the client and add some quality of life improvements.

After testing the customization of the "Recent" view on the experimental branch and applying the needed fixes, we're rolling out the feature to all GOG GALAXY users. What's it all about? Now you can add or remove widgets on the "Recent" view and move them around to your liking, and create a completely personalized experience that is tailor-fit for you.

That's not all that the Proteus update introduces to the client. For better accessibility we have placed your GOG Games Wishlist on the left sidebar, so you can keep it closer to your heart. Thanks to a separate tab listing all owned DLCs, it’s now easier to find, filter out and manage the additional content. You'll find the DLCs tab in the game's configuration window. Last but not least, we've introduced a “Check for updates“ button under the cogwheel icon, so you can check if GOG GALAXY is up to date.

The Proteus update is now available for all GOG GALAXY users – go check it out and let us know what you think.

kami-kaTze: Where can I find the "separate tab listing all owned DLCs" ?
Can someone provide a screenshot to show us where to find that?
Hey,

You can find it in game configuration window. The same place the DLC information was before, just organized in a more readable way.

Guess you're gonna have to keep waiting :)

zakius: I'm not looking at my wishlist anymore

want to know why? because you still refuse to explain how the Hitman issue was allowed to happen and how you are going to make sure it never happens again. And to make it even worse your publications since that day are creeping into the "it's not DRM if you believe it isn't" area
Hilarious!

Hi, I'm glad to see that Galaxy is getting various updates more regularly, but out of curiosity, will there ever come a time that you update the achievement/profiles/trinkets part? For example it's still impossible to know how many achievements a game has without counting them one by one, or see the full profiles from Galaxy.
Thanks for making DLC able to be turned off. Huge benefit in some games that have cheat DLC for promotional reasons or DLC I don't enjoy.

The update did break my installation however, like many others. Not a professional result there. Try and prioritize that next time.

Thanks!

I'm almost certain that was ALWAYS a thing.

I never saw it before, and it's listed in the new features update, so... I dunno. If it was there it was well hidden.

Martek: UPDATE: Got it working thanks to that video.

(The video has you delete a file named "galaxy" [no file extension]. The now-updated Galaxy doesn't have that file anymore. Instead it has "galaxy-2.0.db", which I deleted [well, saved off first just in case], and then Galaxy started and is now re-"importing" my games).
This with the updated filename worked for me too. Kept all my manually imported games. I had to scan my install folder to get installed back, and had to reattach integrations (which still, somehow had all auth information).

I did lose manually installed games, but that was a mere handful.

Looks like it is trying to update every game I had to scan, even if it was already up to date. A pain, but mostly just waiting.
I love ya GOG but having to reinstall every game I already had downloaded is the kinda thing that makes people stick with Steam.

Galaxy user tip, just make a copy of your file or move the games to another directory, and unistall Galaxy, then reinstall it and just move the file again or link the games manually ;)

They're still there, but with the Galaxy database file gone the connection needs to be rebuilt. Use the cogwheel and select Add Games & Friends > Scan Folders for GOG Games and point it to the installation directory. I had all my stuff in C:\Games for instance and it found everything there.

Looks like it tries to update many, if not all, of everything when doing that scan. It's still chugging along for me.

ETA: Looks like it only did about 20 or so. It failed on Gal Civ though, and trying to reinstall that also failed.

Mission accomplished, client is broken: "Failed to load game database"

Thanks for providing a fix which doesn't include watching videos.
Annoying, the way to workaround the database error is deleting the "storage" folder or files into appdata/GOG Galaxy whatever. But Galaxy needs to rescan your Install folders and decides to update a good bunch of them, The process is very slow and a lot of games. More than 3 hours and Galaxy keeps updating my library.

Not mentioning that some of them failed, so when all the process ends, another good list of games should be updated again to be repaired.
