== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

========================================================================================

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

zippythezip: Hoe do you re download games to make a backup copy using Galaxcy?
I have Age of Wonders 3 installed and Galaxcy updated this and my other games, But now my only option is to "''''play" or "manage". Do I have to uninstall games to get downloads?
May be I should just stick to old downloader if was so easy to use.
It's a little non-intuitive currently. Click on the game in your library, then click on More->Download Extras.

hstriepe: Cannot handle the Witcher 2.

First it dowloaded the 23GB of stuff (pain!) and then crashed - apparently on decompressing. I could not run GOG Galaxy at all. I deleted the file and uninstalled the entry.

I then downloaded the whole thing again (23Gb of more pain). It runs, but I cannot add it to the GOG library. What do I do?
If you've installed the game manually by the standalone installer (I'm assuming), hook it into Galaxy by bringing up the game's page in your library and doing: More->Manage->Import

I've done this with both Witcher 1 & 2 downloads from today and both games are present and working as expected on my end. Hope that helps. Oh, and make sure you are updated to the latest version of Galaxy - 1.0.1.917 as it seems to have resolved some issues with the Witcher games for me at least.

I tried this twice. Ended up with an error or timing out.

Later:
Another attempt at downloading gives me an out of disk space error after allocating some 23GB. There are 1.74TB left on this disk. Guess, it has trouble with math.

No response on my last mantis bug, so this look like a waste of time...
I have also been complaining about the Galaxy client and its inability to pause/resume a download just like the GOG.com Downloader does. They moved the location of the GOG.com downloader. Access it via web browser logon: Library > " Game" > More button > GOG DOWNLOADER LINKS.
This gog galxy is a bunch of shit without being able to choose where to install, its basically useless, if you have a 128gb SSD like me as a boot drive and no way to change the install directory you are fucked.

Except that you can change the directory where it installs games to.
I have an old Athlon XP processor that does not support SSE2 instructions. Will I be able to use the Galaxy client?

I'm not sure if they've published or commented anywhere about minumum CPU requirements, but Galaxy is supported only on Windows 7 and newer and will be supported on Mac and Linux soon as well. Galaxy Client much like other gaming clients is just a highly customized web browser based on the Google Chrome engine, so if you can run a modern web browser on Windows 7 on your system and spare about 200-300MB of RAM and have enough RAM left to run games then you might be ok. Mind you an Athlon XP running Windows 7 is not going to be a screaming powerhouse of a machine either, so while Galaxy might run it is probably going to be sluggish, especially if you have low memory.

It probably takes less time to download and install it and test it yourself though than to speculate. Hope this helps.

NOTE TO GOG:

https://www.gog.com/galaxy download link for Windows is pointing to the old stale first beta release and not to the current beta which I'm guessing is probably not what you want. :) Might want to add a note to update that link on new releases unless of course it is intentional for some upgrade testing or something. :)

Unfortunately there is a bug experienced by some that prevents you from changing the game install location outside of the user directory. Everyone that I've seen mention it (including myself) seems to have a SSD as their main hard drive on which windows is installed.

Ok, I had a look at the bug report and added my own local setup/data/results as a datapoint of a working system so that hopefully it can help to narrow down what the differences are between working and non-working systems.
I'm not sure if this was already mentioned on this thread, but Galaxy breaks 3d acceleration for me in Tie Fighter (1998) and X-wing (1998) completely. Hex editing exe file doesn't work. Installing vogons patch also just causes the game to crash to desktop once flight simulation starts. Luckily I had older installers for both games and reinstalled those.

Can you install Galaxy client on your secondary HDD? I realize it's not as efficient as having it on your SSD, but it could solve your issue.

I haven't tested with the Star Wars games but I've had various old DOS games go tits up launched by Galaxy during the alpha. Some games launch underneath Galaxy and have both Galaxy and the taskbar on top of them. Running them manually from the Start menu they work fine though. Filed at least one bug if not more in Mantle about that. :)

Soooo many more games to test but redownloading over and over and over just burns Internet bandwidth for the month so I've been limiting that somewhat and using the standalones. But... the big kicker...

The big enchilada...

The Witcher 3 is out in like 2 days (in North America!) and after that, productivity is taking a nosedive worldwide. Seriously. Beta testing Galaxy? Beta testing the website? Bwahahahahahaha... Try VISITING NOVIGRAD! :) GOG/CDPR don't realize it but their new game is going to slow down their beta testing. Hell even their own developers/engineers/marketing people etc. are going to not get any work done for months, face it. :)

Say hi to JudasIscariot sometime in the next 2 days because he's going to be doing Witcher cosplay game runthroughs on twitch or whatever, just you watch! No new game releases... but who will care? WITCHER! :)

I think they know that witcher 3 is almost out lol. Hence the huge recent push and all the changes happening a bit fast, with way too many bugs! Because ready or not, people are going to be using galaxy for reals...

deadfloat: Hey,

I uninstalled Galaxy from Control Panel > Programs and Features > Galaxy.
It did not remove the folder GOG.com from C:\ProgramData\GOG.com
Had to remove it manually.
Where are you installing the Galaxy Client and where are your GOG games installed.
I used the Control Panel too and deleted C:\ProgramData\GOG.com manually the last times.
I do have 2 hard-drives, one for windows and other programms and one for gaming and data.
Both, Galaxy and all Games are located on the latter. (The same goes for my laptop).
At this very moment i have no GOG games installed.

Example:
D:\Games\GOG.com\GalaxyClient
D:\Games\GOG.com\AnyGOG-GameThatMightCome

Ok I've had a look and while the custom tags are the best library management solution that GOG has ever thought up, actually ASSIGNING them I'm finding intensely frustrating with menu disappearing or even the game card opening if I'm not super accurate with the mouse - PLEASE improve the interface!

I have an SSD for Windows and programmes and have no trouble whatsoever to change the installation location, so that can't be it.
