== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

MarkoH01: No, I want to minimize in tray or close. With this option closing will close Galaxy but minimizing will still bring it to the taskbar.
Ah, I see. Yeah, there are a lot of useful options that could and hopefully will be added in the future. Once they get the big features rolling we can gang up on them for a couple dozen small fixes, options etc. :)
Is there somewhere a list of games with working achievements in Galaxy? I think some games have added achievements, but they does not work (i.e. Ys Origin has achievements added, but they does not work)

Not that I'm aware of. Achievements and game time tracking are both experimental features that have had a number of bugs since they became available, and often when you get an achievement it doesn't register with GOG. That's a quite common bug.

Is this not what you want? https://www.gog.com/games?feature=achievements&sort=bestselling&page=1
Two problems:

1) GOG hasn't (last I checked) properly flagged all games that have achievements, and there is always room for human error where future games added to the catalogue may not be properly flagged either. A community driven list is more likely to be accurate because it is contributed to by many community members rather than funnelling through a few people on GOG's end.

2) Games that do have achievements, the feature may be experimental and unstable in the game (Witcher 2 IIRC), and/or Galaxy itself doesn't properly register and synchronize the achievements to GOG's servers causing people to lose achievements potentially with no way of ever getting them. IIRC, GOG's official word on missing achievements was something along the lines of <paraphrasing> "we'll do our best to find and fix bugs and for acquired achievements to be granted where possible technically to do so on our end, but in some cases the game needs to resubmit the achievement and if it isn't coded to do that you may have to re-achieve it or possibly be unable to achieve it" </paraphrase> That isn't exactly what they said but that was my personal general interpretation of it which is basically that they know the system has glitches right now as it is in beta and thus experimental, but that they'll do whatever they can to fix as many bugs as they turn up and to make things as smooth as can be for users, however some problems can not be automated and so some achievements may be lost. For example, I am missing one achievement in The Witcher Adventure Game still despite the latest round of bug fixes and updates in the last month, and at least one or more in Witcher 3. It's probably unlikely that the missing achievements will get automatically sorted out at this point for these games unless there is a way to trick the game into re-achieving them, or to hack the API and send commands to GOG's servers via a script that announces "grant achievement XYZ to user ABC for game MNLOP" or something.

So, the store's achievement filter is a far cry from the true picture of which games have achievements and which they actually work in currently due to the unstable developmental nature of the software currently. The list of games that have working achievements is effectively: ""

Where I define "working" as "rock solid stable guaranteed bug free experience that just works". :) Having said that, I dunno what the OP meant by "working achievements", might be a different definition than mine. :)
Is there 1.1.12 version available to download somewhere? Or is it available only as update for 1.1.11.53. The latter won't work for me though since updater crashes upon.. updating itself. And there's a bug report on mantis for that so. All and all my question stands - 1.1.12 installer anyone? Thanks in advance!

Edit
And after checking said bug on mantis and using my head I've found out that new version is 1.1.12.108 so just simple change in current url for GOG Galaxy download and here it is:

Nice trick. Someone at GOG probably fell asleep at the wheel. :)

That is exactly what I have in mind. "Working" means I fulfill the requirements in game, I get the achievement in Galaxy. Simple as that. For Ys it clearly does not work, I tried to get the easiest one (for enabling No-Fall mode), and it didn't registered.
Worms World Party achievements seem to work flawlessly for me. :P

Yep, that's unfortunately common at the present. :( They do keep finding and fixing bugs based on people's feedback though, so do report bugs with achievements in their Mantis bug tracker when you encounter one if possible. Link in the first few posts in the thread. Also, always make sure to run the latest client update and game updates to pick up any bug fixes that might have gotten rolled out over time.
Lately I've been installing quite a lot of games via the manual installers for testing with Galaxy and I've repeated been hit by a rather inconvenient problem that there's no easy automatic solution for at the moment, which is the ability to disable game auto-updates at the global level. The unfortunate thing is that the option is shown in the Settings pane now for about a year and a half or more listed as "coming soon" but greyed out, which reminds me of all the nice Geocities etc. web pages from the 1990s with those yellow "under construction" signs on abandoned web pages that would never again be updated and eventually vanished leaving only traces on the Internet Archive Wayback Machine.

In settings it's shown:
[✔] Game auto-updates

Such a tease.

There are many reasons why one might want to disable game auto-updates for one or more individual games, or for their entire library by default. I wont go into all of the reasons I'm aware of or can think of, but I'll explain how it affects me at least and causes me to waste a lot of time, network bandwidth and disk space because of this missing functionality.

As a matter of personal preference, I count myself among those who greatly prefer to download the standalone installers, patches, bonus goodies to have personal backups for a variety of personal reasons. I keep them up to date every time new patches are released by following the "What did just update?" thread, as well as re-downloading my entire library once in a blue moon (last time was Jan-Feb this year). So I always have the most recent version of every game with very very few exceptions. I do not always re-download the huge main installer if there are patches that will bring my existing installer up to the current build, just in order to save some bandwidth, so a fair number of my games have installer+patches either because that's the only option due to the main installers not yet being updated to the latest patch for a given game, or because I've opted personally to keep the older installer plus patches.

Now here's the problem the inability to disable game auto-updates by default causes me. When I install a game, I optimally would like to see the game automatically be detected by the Galaxy client, and I usually have the client running so any games I install which the standalone installers have had Galaxy support added to (unfortunately a tonne of them do not still) either automatically appear magically in Galaxy seconds after the installation is done, or after I go and do a manual game import. If the game in question does not require any patches on top of the base installer, then most of the time things go relatively smooth. Galaxy will verify the game installation and might sync a small number of redists or other metadata from GOG totalling anywhere from a few megabytes to a few hundred megabytes, and all is well. But - for games that the standalone installer is not the current version of the game, and which I do have the standalone patches for but have not yet gotten a chance to install them - Galaxy immediately detects the game has been installed, verifies the unpatched game on its own due to auto-updates being globally enabled by default, and then happily tries to download anywhere from dozens of megabytes to 16GB of game updates for the game, even if the game's standalone patch file is only like 8MB or so. (On a side note, I thought we had delta updates and compression finally? Not for all games?). The only way to prevent this is to shut down Galaxy client before installing any games, in which case the games wont automatically be registered with the client forcing you to have to scan folders or do a manual game import later.

So what ends up happening, is if I install a game then go do something else, half the time Galaxy has redownloaded half the Internet while I was busy. :( If I am monitoring the game install though, soon as the game is installed and I decide to go and install the manual patch, now there is a problem because Galaxy has no idea I am doing this, and now we are both trying to update the same game at the same time which often results in a broken mess, and sometimes requires killing Galaxy and reinstalling the game+patches then restarting Galaxy.

As a result, the only reliable way to install games that require patches via the standalone installers, is to exit Galaxy, install the game and its DLC and patches, then start Galaxy, scan folders or import, then wait for it to sync up. This is rather frustrating when you're installing dozens and dozens of games every day.

Then there's also the issue where manually installed DLC (for The Witcher 3 at least) does not get autodetected by Galaxy even though they all install .info files. Not sure if that is a Galaxy bug, or a bug in the game or DLC's installers though. I can file a bug report in Mantis to track this if someone from GOG can indicate if it is a bug or not, or simply due to lacking functionality that will be implemented later on though.

So for me at least, having the ability to disable game auto-updates would prevent game installation corruption, reduce both disk space and network bandwidth wastage, and save a lot of personal time that gets wasted working around these problems.

Also, if/when there is a global disable-updates feature, the per-game update settings should be:
(✔) use global setting (default)
( ) Automatic update
( ) Manual update

This way all games will use the GOG supplied defaults, if the user changes the global default all games will follow that instead, but either way, the user can manually override each one to auto or manual regardless of the global setting. Finally, new versions of the Galaxy client should honour the previous configuration of all of these options and not reset them or override them (that's happened in the past with some settings, probably not on purpose however).

Anyhow, I'm sure others have good reasons for wanting this sort of option to be available sooner too, such as game mods and customizations, dialup Internet or other slow or unreliable Internet, the Great Firewall of China, data caps, etc...

</thinking out loud> :o)

I have Witcher 3 (+DLC) installed, game launches and plays fine, but Galaxy doesn't recognise that the game is installed, and keeps trying to download it. Do other games have this problem?
I have a small problem with changelogs. I see that for example The Witcher Adventure Game is now version 1.2.5. Well, I somehow missed actual update, but when backing up installers I saw that there is new one. So I click the version number and I got changelog. But the most recent entry is for previous update. So I went to my account page through regular browser and there it is - some unity changes, removing references to defunct Witcher mobile game and few more. I think I've spotted it earlier, but I didn't report it because I couldn't find what exactly causes the changelog text in client to update.
Is this a known problem? And if yes, what's the magic step?
EDIT
I think that restarting client and waiting some time after it starts does the trick.

The library should refresh if you press the library button a second time.

I'm aware of this, and as far as I recall this didn't help.
As I think it may be relevant - I keep Galaxy running non-stop. I shutdown my machine on weekends as I'm out of town and AFK every single weekend. But otherwise it's late Sunday reboot and everything keeps going till Friday. So maybe Galaxy gets some hiccups.
