== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

The client very often crash (with libcef.dll as the cause), mostly I notice it happen when having the app minimized and then opening it when I'm gonna reply to a message.
My GOG Galaxy icon changes to that of Witcher 3 on the taskbar after I launch Witcher 3. I need to restart Galaxy to fix this. I assume this is a bug.

Plus I still can't launch Witcher 3 with overlay enabled. Come on, do something about this finally. :(

Overlay tests are currently ongoing, for quite a few games.
GOG Galaxy is coming along nicely. The feature I am most interested in is a easy and precise way of organizing my games. Its pretty good how it is but I remember a long time ago I could rearrange my games on my virtual shelves in my online GOG account, but that no longer seems to be the case. Having this feature back and in Galaxy would be most excellent.

Often the version available for direct-download on the website is not the newest build, so there is usually always an update available once you install it. Try uninstalling the current release you have installed, and carefully removing the C:\ProgramData\GOG\Galaxy folder and the directory where Galaxy was installed to - while carefully making sure to not also delete any games that were installed in the same directory. Then reinstall the new Galaxy client and let it update. This solution solves a lot of problems that creep up over time after the client has updated itself repeatedly. Gives it a fresh start and tends to work smoother.

File a bug report at http://mantis.gog.com with as many details as you can, attach Galaxy logs (details in first two posts), and screenshots of any dialog boxes that pop up if possible.

Be sure to vote for that feature on the GOG Community wishlist. Link at bottom of page footer.

JMich: Overlay tests are currently ongoing, for quite a few games.
So, I'd like to say that my problem has been solved by a very helpful dev. It turned out my Visual Studio redistributable package was broken and I needed to reinstall it. :)

I've noticed many mantis reports about overlay tests, but I couldn't get any of the listed games to work with the overlay, plus one report mentioned having a Galaxy version of 1.1.12 - I don't have such, even though I have preview updates enabled.
So, what's going on? :D
I see it now, thanks Skeleton Bow.
There was no feature like this in the wishlist so I added one, please feel free to like :)

The overlay is being redesigned and well... If I say anymore you may be in jeopardy. I've already said to much. Lock the doors and turn out the lights! :)

Your "paste URLs into forum threads so they are clickable" skills need some work. :) I say that in jest as I see you're a new user so the forum software is probably kicking you in the balls over posting URLs. :)

All seriousness aside though... Yeah, the overlay is a highly experimental feature that is currently undergoing significant changes at the moment. They're working on it however so it'll sort itself out in time, be patient. :)

From the 2nd report, it sounds like you may be using multiple pieces of software that implement overlay functionality. I'm not certain but that might cause problems with the GOG overlay currently as it is in a state of development. While I'm testing the overlay, I shut down 3rd party apps that also provide an overlay such as AMD Gaming Evolved a.k.a. Raptr and the included Plays.TV app to name a few.

Time tracking and achievement tracking issues are quite common and do not appear to be with specific games but rather in general. They've made a few alleged fixes to these problems lately which may improve things for some users however, but I haven't been able to verify most of that yet, although almost all of my achievements from The WItcher Adventure Game minus one did sync over, and I noticed the game time of many did sync also.

If you still have problems with it with an up to date Galaxy client, it may be worthwhile to:

- Exit Galaxy client, then bring up the Windows Task Manager and make sure no Galaxy processes are still running, if so kill them.

- Uninstall Galaxy client.

- Remove the contents of C:\ProgramData\GOG\Galaxy or move them temporarily to disable them.

- Find the directory where Galaxy client was installed under Program Files(x86) and making sure to not delete any of your video games that may be installed under this directory, nor their save games - delete any remaining file turds that might be left behind after Galaxy was uninstalled.

- Visit https://www.gog.com/galaxy and download the latest installer available and install it.

- Start the newly installed Galaxy client and it will probably connect to GOG and download a newer version. Yes, it is odd that the version available on the download page is not actually the current release but that's often the case, so let it update itself then restart it again if necessary.

- Initiate a "scan folders" operation on your game installation directory so Galaxy finds all of your previously installed games.

- If any games which are installed do not get auto-detected, then go to your Game Library in Galaxy and for each game that is installed but not showing up on the Galaxy list of installed games, find it in your library, then click on it and go to "More->Manage->Import" and point Galaxy to the specific directory where that game is installed.

- If you need a reminder of which games are installed, visit the subdir where Galaxy installs games to via Windows Explorer to get the list of games that may not have imported correctly yet so you can import them as per above one game at a time.

While this process is a bit of a pain to do, it often cleans up the Galaxy installation and gets rid of old cruft from older beta releases that might cause problems. As the client matures it gets better and better with cleaning up after itself, but it is still a beta, so a good old fashioned manual housecleaning like this can help eliminate some strange quirky problems including ones that GOG or other users might not be able to reproduce, so it is a worthwhile step to take when encountering certain problems. Quite often, the problems one was experiencing just vanish after doing this, but if they persist, then it's worth filing or updating a bug report about it, and including as much info as possible.

Hope this helps.
Strange Galaxy behaviour. I just installed Metro Last Light Redux via standalone installer (fresh download), while Galaxy client was running, it detects the game is installed as expected and does its little verify dance then completes. I go into Settings for the game and set it to Manual Update upon which Galaxy lights up in blue saying "UPDATE AVAILABLE". That's odd because it was sitting there with the default setting of AUTOMATIC UPDATES enabled and there was no update plus I have the most recent version already. Only setting it to MANUAL made it claim there was an update, upon which I never selected any of the update versions, instead I set it back to AUTO and it proceeded to download about 600MB.

This is just an observation, not a bug report. I'm curious if anyone from GOG could explain if this is expected behaviour or if it should be considered a bug.
skeletonbow sry but gog galaxy crash without overlay dlc for witcher 3 and disabled overlay global in gog galaxy. Galaxy crash in all games when you click play.
