Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

I don't know if this has already been mentioned or if it's a configuration issue on my end but if not, it would be nice if you guys could implement some directwrite/cairo on linux? support into Galaxy so that the fonts are smooth.
This is not a massive issue, but I found that when I bought a new game, I had to close the client and relaunch it before it would show the new purchase. (It doesn't show the game under "sort by purchase date")

After which it said not yet available. I have since reset the client 3-4 times and it now appears to have shown up. Unsure if this was to do with the client, or was just taking time for the game to appear (It appeared in browser and could download) long before I could in the client.

Each time I've bought a new game I just had to wait a little bit before it would show up in the Galaxy library. I never had to retart the client or anything. I think there is just a delay in the updating process.

I'd say it took about 1 minute each time to update. I'd just click back and forth between 'Store' and 'Library'.

Officially it's only supported on Windows 7 and up. But they have stated they won't block installation on older operating systems. I do know that the alpha worked for some people on XP so I'm not sure why the beta wouldn't, not much has changed.
does pm notification work properly?

skonvolt: Had a problem on checkout with a game.

Galaxy does not link me to my paypal account, or at least the link doesn't work, if galaxy is also a web browser, or other way galaxy simply doesn't launch the main browser to complete transaction.

if is the second, it will take about 20 minutes to patch it

It's listed under the "Known Problems" - last one, where sometimes the Paypal window doesn't show up. I clicked on the Galaxy icon under Windows 7 in the task bar and it showed me that it had two windows. I right clicked on the "other" window and said maximize and voila! The Paypal window showed up.

Not supported at the moment I am afraid.. Works only partially on my another system, but is very buggy. Make sure you have SP3 installed and VC++ libraries up to date.

Lebostein: How I install a game in an other language? The language option under "Configure" is available only AFTER the game is installed! To change the language I have to install the english version first. Then I can switch the option and I have to re-download the complete game in the new language! That is stupid in my eyes... Why I can not set the language BEFORE I click on install?
Galaxy doesn't re-download the whole game when you change the language. It only downloads the files that are different in the language of your choice.

Still, choosing the language on install would be preferable. I made this suggestion in the alpha already but the feature still hasn't made it into the client. If you want to show GOG these features are important to you vote for them in the wishlist and [url=http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy/option_to_set_standarddefault_installation_languages_for_games_in_galaxy]here.
It wont start anymore. I installed it and it was working fine at first, I installed a few games and it was good.
Then I closed it and it won't open. An error message comes up saying "Essential components needed to start GOG Galaxy are missing. Please reinstall the application." I uninstall then reinstall and the same message comes up. I've tried this several times. I've also redownloaded the installer and tried again but it still has the same error. What do I do?

Of the 9 installed titles here that were downloaded and installed prior to Galaxy, one of them was picked up by scan for adding to my installed library. The rest I am finding when I import them do not import the existing install but rather download and install the entire game on top of the existing installation.

I have a feeling I'm going to need to redownload over 300 game installers to have backups locally that work with Galaxy. Such is the price of progress I guess. :(

I also found it rather unintuitive that I should need to from my library view somehow know that I need to visit the store page to access this MORE button and do this stuff. Why isn't this functionality available in the drop down menu associated with each displayed game in the library view where one would reasonably expect to find it? Actually, I do understand why it is on the store page when I already own the game. However, I think it should also be right in that little menu for each game in the library. When you are there messing with game installs, it just makes sense to find that option there.

I don't want to come off as being negative. These are just some early observations as I test drive the OS X version of the Galaxy beta. I otherwise think this is very cool, like what i see so far overall and look forward to upcoming features that will be implemented.

I like the look and layout of Galaxy too and icon is very cool. I like cool looking icons. :D

Hopefully that won't be an issue for TOO long.
As stated by others before, Galaxy is still in beta, so expect oddities like that.

Though I can't say I like the idea that this blasted thing wants to redownload the ENTIRE GAME every time I add it. Which has happened several times now :| Even in the USA, not everyone has the bandwidth to download 10GB worth of game in a reasonable time frame, and even several 100MB games strung together starts adding up... Nevermind how it bugs up mods and the saves that go along with them (if it doesn't outright overright the save file).

Guess I'll be waiting out on adding all my games back in for the time being...

@IndianTacos: You might have to redownload the installer and try again. It could have been corrupted during downloading. Happens sometimes :(

Well, considering that I am a retired Senior Software Engineer, I do have a little familiarity with what expectations should reasonably be for software in development and various phases of in-house and end user testing. One of my responsibilities at one point was to oversee the efforts of a team of Software Quality Assurance engineers in fact.

You just never know who is on the other side of the screen communicating in forums. ;-)

Anyway, I suspect there may not be much way around this problem because it could be down to some fundamental change in the installers themselves. If it is Galaxy enabled features on a game by game basis maybe those could be patched in but the more I think about this the more I wonder if having to create patches for every single game in the catalog to avoid this issue is really something that will happen or is even reasonable to expect. I know some like myself download everything for local backup but many others probably just rely on the cloud storage and do not, perhaps the majority in fact of the customer base as a whole. I would have no way of knowing of course but I am inclined to think not everyone downloads and keeps all the installers once the games are installed.

We might just have to bite the bullet one time and going forward everything new will have the correct installer and support for Galaxy features depending on the individual game. So it will cease to be a problem. I would see creating that many patches of various complexity to be a questionable undertaking considering the cost for a one time transition. Whenever you do stuff like that, every one of them then needs to at the minimum also go through internal testing and very often fixing on an iterative basis until it is ready for release. That is manpower intensive and expensive. It also occupies resources that could be working on other more pressing matters.

If a blue sees this, a response regarding what to expect here would be appreciated. I think I already know the answer but I'd like the official word on this just the same.

Destro: Do you increase font size when browsing forums on the website? If not, do you have DPI scaling enabled on Windows?
I noticed the fonts were really small in the forums in Galaxy also so I haven't been using forums in the client but not just due to the fonts being too small but also I can only have one page open at a time which is not the way I prefer to view the forums so I decided to just stick with my browser for the time being and wait to see how that aspect of the client evolves over time. Now that you've asked about font size though I just realized... I don't change the font size in my browser but I have a 30" display with 2560x1600 resolution and a large portion of the web has not been designed with responsive design principles to work on a wide variety of display sizes/shapes/orientations optimally so I am in the habit of using CTRL+scrollwheel to zoom the entire page on a given website to fill more of the screen in a way that gives a better experience, and I have the gog.com website zoomed in about 50% which has the net effect of making everything including fonts 50% bigger.

Since you asked above, I just reset my zoom level in Firefox and compared the size of the fonts between Firefox, Chrome and Galaxy client and they are actually all pretty much the exact same size when zoom level is reset to 0 (CTRL+0 in Firefox or Chrome), so Galaxy isn't doing anything out of the ordinary in the default rendering it seems, but it is incredibly small on high resolution high-DPI monitors. It'd totally be unreadable on a 4k display I imagine without scaling - however Firefox and Chrome detect high-dpi displays and auto-adjust for that I believe - if not I think there is a setting in about:config in firefox at least.

Galaxy client does not currently allow zooming on pages like Firefox/Chrome, but if that feature was enabled in the future it would help make the website fill the screen and make better use of the available space for users with larger and high-dpi displays as well as making the text more readable. Mind you I've checked in other gaming clients and none of them seem to support this either so if you guys were to add zooming to Galaxy it'd revolutionize the gaming client industry for PC Master Race gamers with high end displays. ;)

As for the ability to have multiple windows/tabs open at once though, while a user like me would appreciate such a feature none of the gaming clients out there support that either (although Steam has a way to pop up other windows if you muck around with it a bit, but that's kind of ugly). I can understand too though that such a feature might be outside of the scope of what you intend for the client, so if you don't plan to implement such hopefully you consider a "high-dpi display" option or autodetection that can make better use of the screen real estate on high end displays.

I'm happy to keep using the forums in Firefox though and I imagine some of this functionality would only be relevant for a very small portion of the target userbase so I wouldn't expect advanced power user options to be added to Galaxy client just for geeks like me. :)

I suspect I could hack around it a bit using a squid proxy and forcing Galaxy to pass through that and modify your CSS on the fly or something. GeekOn(TM)! :)
