1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

Automatic updates:

How do I get GOG Galaxy to automatically update my games...

Actually my account says there are 9 game updates available, but it seems there is no updating in the Galaxy client. Do I need to start them manually? Isnt it implemeted yet? My client is running all day but my download queue isnt showing any activity. What I read from different website about the features of Galaxy seems not to work yet. Neither do I get a notification about updates, nor does it help to try to check/repair to get the client to realize there ARE updates available. I checked all the settings possible, but there is no automatic update setting.. I am confused, (maybe stupid..) but how can I get this feature working??

Notifications that you see on the website / My account are universal for all users that own certain game and they are meant for offline (standalone) installers and other items available for manual download from My Account. Basically, these can notify about pretty much anything including an update for another OS (like the recent wave of installer updates for OSX 10.11), no matter if you have that game installed or not. These notifications have nothing to do with Galaxy.

Now, if you have installed or imported any game into Galaxy, it's always updated automatically, by default - you'd actually have to manually disable auto updating per game to make it stop working. Most likely you have simply not noticed these games being updated already or the games that website notifies you about aren't even installed in Galaxy. Either way, you can easily verify if any game is up to date in Galaxy by checking the version number of the right side of MORE button - it's actually clickable and should show you a change log together with a timestamp :)

Just started it after quite some time ago. Much to my furious had no coffee yet anger (the I'm really pissed one, not the other one) galaxy decided all by itself to detect & upgrade everything I had installed in the meantime. While the individual games have a configuration to turn to manual or automatic update together with roll back (which is great) the general galaxy setup needs that too for all games. Even more so when games like Rebel Galaxy have or at least had errors that bug the out of it when mixing it with Galaxy upgrades.

I faintly remember that this was a major reason for not using galaxy for more than what I consider barebones necessary (like DLing a singe file installer instead these part 1,2,3,4 of 6753).

This is starting to get silly... Wasteland 2 Director's Cut got its first patch. It's a tiny 146 MB file on the website, but Galaxy just started to download 9.5 GB to patch it -.- I know, I know, same old song again and again and again, but... gnaaaahhhh, 9.5 GB!!! The only reason why I use Galaxy is auto updates (currently 6 GOGs installed, 3 of them are new releases). But your auto "updates" are kind of a joke if I have to redownload the whole game every single time a new patch arrives! Is there any E.T.A. for a... well... normal auto patching feature?

Pillars of Eternity does that too, very annoying :(
My E: games drive has been close to full for a while now so I haven't been able to update Witcher 3 beyond the 1.8.x series of patches however I did download the standalone patch installers to have backups locally. Every time I start Galaxy it attempts to do the auto-update and of course fails due to out of disk space error. I don't really want it downloading 20GB or whatever it is to update the game since the patch is a fraction of that and I already have it so it'd just be a huge waste. So today I finally freed up 38GB total on the E: drive where the game is installed, the patches themselves live on F: which has about 5GB available total. My C: drive has 1GB available. Since the game is on the E: drive with 38GB free and the patches total in at 11GB roughly I figure 38GB is enough space to update the game.

So I fire up Galaxy and it tries to update the game itself which I cancel, then go in and configure the game to not auto-update, then exit that. Seconds later Galaxy says an update is available and starts downloading it. So much for auto-update being disabled stopping auto-updates... So I abort the update with the "abort update" button and it stops. I exit Galaxy completely then restart the application. Now I wait and it just says "Update Available" in blue but does not seem to do anything, which is correct. When I had it running before that and went and configured it to not auto-update it still went ahead and attempted to update anyway. It would make sense that wherever variable says "don't update" gets checked right before it attempts to update so that when you tell it "no" it honours it immediately. Just a thought anyway.

So I exit Galaxy completely again to do the update manually with 38GB of free disk space on the drive the game is on. Within seconds it tells me in red "There is not enough system disk space for this update". Now by using the term "system disk space", that implies to me that it wants space on my C: drive, the drive that the game is not installed on which only has 1GB free. That drive is not going to ever have any more than 1GB free for some time now and there's no reason that it should ever need it because the game, the patch for the game should not be touching my C: drive at all for any reason. I've not had any problems updating The Witcher 3 to new versions with every single patch released to date up to 1.8.4, so I'm curious why all of a sudden it needs space on my C: drive?

If someone from GOG has a solution/hack, commandline switch for the patch executable, or other secret sauce I'd really appreciate that. Please stop making things default to C: for any reason whatsoever with no way to change it. I may need to find out what directory it is trying to store stuff in and set up a junction point there to point to my E: drive where the space actually is. That's pretty horrible from a usability perspective.

I can go through support proper if this isn't considered a Galaxy issue (by GOG), and I can file a bug in mantis if desired, but I'd like to install this game patch without having to format my C: SSD drive or buy a new one. Hell, I have another hard disk in the system with 400GB available, why not scan all drives if the patch process needs temporary space and use one that has ample available like Microsoft Windows update does. Windows update will even store update temp files on attached USB sticks, camera memory, a network file share, or even on a clay tablet in the closet if it had a way to talk to it.

If I have to uninstall 20-40GB of stuff off my SSD drive to install a patch that is actually going onto a game on my E: drive I'm going to be rather upset and probably just uninstall my favourite game completely. Kind of ridiculous.

Is there a way to see what games have updated aside from manually checking?
Steam for example has a downloads page.

Currently you can click the download icon in the bottom-left corner - it will list every download, both manual and automatic since you last restarted Galaxy.

Yep and this will continue to make Galaxy a less than desired client until this improves. Frankly delta patching and compressed patching should have been one of the first things Galaxy received in my view since Galaxy is suppose to be the better option compared to downloading the standalone installers. Right now it's not even close.

If Galaxy is really replacing only changed files when patching, then I can't see them compressing those same changed files down to 146MB via standalone installer but Galaxy have a 9.5 GB download. Something is not adding up, either Galaxy is downloading way more than it needs to or something doesn't make sense.
Why would "Galaxyclient Helper Application" (GalaxyClient Helper.exe) maintain 5% CPU use with the client doing nothing except sitting idle minimzed to the system tray?

There is zero reason for it to use any CPU whatsoever if it's just sitting there idle isn't there? (It's not downloading, it's not updating, it's not set to send info, it's not in preview mode, etc.)
Sorry guys, but it's a looong time that galaxy doesn't count the hours in game, nor the unlocked achievements.
I tried just everything, even doing a clean installation of galaxy. Any tips?

Could you perhaps tell us what game you're having problems with?

If game is using its own launcher, time may be not count properly. In that case you may try making some changes in .info file (you may find it in the game folder). Also The Witcher 2 achievements aren't live yet as far as I know..

The Witcher 2 goggame-1207658930.info example:
{
"isPrimary" : true,
"type" : "FileTask",
"path" : "launcher.exe",
"workingDir" : ""
},
change to:
{
"isPrimary" : true,
"type" : "FileTask",
"path" : "bin\\witcher2.exe",
"workingDir" : "bin"
},

In that case make sure all Galaxy executables aren't blocked with firewall/antivirus software.
