== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

EckoShy: Thank you, I've got it all fixed now, don't know why I didn't think of that before.

Took some time to find the EXE for the game though. It wasn't in the main folder like normal (Or at least not like I'm use to), it was stuffed into the BIN x64 folder for some reason.

And I'll file a quick bug report, hopefully it won't have to happen to too many more people.

saluk: You don't by any chance have that shortcut handy or remember what it's "target" said, do you? Long shot but I've been trying to figure out how to have this very behavior.
If by target you mean exactly what folder and application the shortcut pointed to, then yes actually I managed to take a look at it before deleting the shortcut. It was C: > Program Files (x86) > GalaxyClient > GalaxyClient. The first GC being the folder, second being the application.

If you mean something else by that, then sorry, I don't think I can help you. I'm not particularly tech savvy, and even if I was I didn't look any deeper at the old shortcut before I got rid of it.

MrocznyM: I dowloaded the files from gog.com, and when i import the files in gog galaxy, it starts downloading the whole game. Someone please help. :<<
avatar
green.anger: Just use the files from GOG to install the game, Galaxy will see it and to the side panel.
Yeah, but the thing is that these files are corrupt...
avatar
Almercenary: Its probably come up before, but again and again i find the friends system is absolutely terrible.
avatar
green.anger: You're not the first who saying about this. Could you please elaborate? I don't get what's wrong with it.
I cant just search for a friend i know. It seems very elaborate just to get a friend

Ok ,then check hash sums:
MD5 against these, or
SHA-1 against these.

Re-download broken files and try again.

Aska_Light: But since i can't find the .exe
Is it not in [GOG Games]\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\bin\x64?

That's not so important as is reporting bugs in any Galaxy features in the Mantis bug tracker (instructions in first post in thread) so that GOG is aware of them and likely to try and fix them, and filing feature request suggestions on how to make the software more useful into the Galaxy wishlist (link at bottom of page). Individual people will always have different opinions on what is right or wrong about something, whether something is good or bad, works or is broken. Opinions about these things are always nice to share, but ultimately bug reports and feature requests are what can lead to changes that make all users have a better product to enjoy.

Thanks! I just asked for his opinion as I don't use friend list much, and whom I've added were in the same threads where I was, so it wasn't a problem. And I agree with you about mantis and wishlist, I've contributed some bugs and wishes with hope to get a better piece of software later on.

GOG Downloader version is recognized without problems.

Yes, I've configured the path correctly in nVidia Experience.
No one else has this kind of problem?

Don't take lack of response to mean that nobody has the problem, but rather that nobody noticed your post because they're probably too busy playing The Witcher 3.
alo
Not sure whether it's Galaxy or Witcher 3 servers, but I'm trying to download the launch patch & it gets part way then quits & starts again. It's been doing that all day. Anyone else got this problem?
game dont start as l downloaded 1 hour ago.. what is the problem
GOG Galaxy developers:

I just noticed that numerous bugs I filed in mantis over the last few months of Galaxy client testing, game install testing all of which took a lot of my personal time to test out of the goodness of my heart to help you guys find bugs and fix them so that not only I benefit but all other GOG customers benefit too who may not have the time and patience to file bug reports - all got closed "wont fix, client out of date please update and file a brand new bug report if the problem still exists".

I'm sorry but that is unacceptable. If you know an issue is definitely fixed because you tested it and believe it to be true then you should close it as "fixed in newer client", or you should ask the bug reporter politely if they can test again and see if the problem is still present or not before blindly closing the bug. If you were to ask "does this still occur with the current client" I could either immediately respond back "yes the problem is still there" in 2 seconds and the bug stays open and valid with up to date information for you guys.

When you gang-close them with some autobot or whatever it says "thanks for wasting your time before and your Internet bandwidth, please download those 100+GB of games all over again and spend 8 hours of your time to completely re-file the same bug report you filed before that we basically ignored and blindly closed and we wont give you any method to re-open the existing bug either to save your time."

Now I feel like I wasted hours of my time doing all of that testing and reporting and you expect me to do it again. That's abuse of my personal time and anyone else who has cared to put that much effort into testing this stuff. Not to mention all of the time many of us spend trying to calm others down who are experiencing problems and helping test the issues that they are having too, putting out fires that start up here etc.

Now I feel disenfranchised and that my time is not valuable, and that telling other people experiencing bugs and problems to file bugs in mantis so you will look at them will also get them closed in a similar cold manner that devalues people's time. I thought I was contributing to something and now I feel that I was sending things directly into /dev/null

I'm feeling much less inclined to continue contributing to the beta testing effort now or to tell other customers to do so either unless you guys can change your process with handling this to be more professional and value our time more.

Plus, The Witcher 3 is out now so you have to compete for our time with that so it's going to be a tougher sell. File bug reports that go to the bit bucket or play The Witcher 3... hmmm, let me think about that...
