Bookwyrm627: So we're more or less agreed that we're going to chuck body and ring into the fire. Who's going to carry the body?
avatar
bler144: At risk of sounding scummy, is there a reason we're leaning towards toting an entire decaying corpse versus the lazier / less stinky option of just carrying, y'know, one finger?

Preferably in a ziploc bag.

Getting in character, why work 'ard when we can work 'mart?
Dropping 's's? Hmm, that doesn't match the rest of your accent. You must be faking it, and that means only one thing, scum!
Note: I stopped counting posts at 59, so I wouldn't have to recalculate if people posted before I finished. Numbers don't include this post.

Useless Post count analysis:
Hijack - 10
Lifthrasil - 3
JMich - 3
CSPVG - 4
adaliabooks - 4
Sage103082 - 4
flubbucket - 2
Bookwyrm627 - 7
Leonard03 - 1
QuadrAlien - 1
dedoporno - 3
bler144 - 9
trentonlf - 3

Useless post count statistics
Range: 1-10
Mean: 4.15
Median: 3
Mode: 3

Useless post count analysis conclusions:
-Hijack is way above the curve.
-Leonard and QuadrAlien are rather below the curve.
-CSPVG, Adalia, and Sage are tied for being closest to the mean number of posts.

Overanalysis of Mod posts:
"the Ring came to rest with a lone hobbit"
"did we seriously lose the hobbit in the first damn post?"
-Looks like the only hobbit is already dead, so everyone alive might be some other race. Probably some combination of Dwarves, Elves, and Humans.

"cristigale is dead. She was Bobo Goodgrow, Hobbit Gardener (TOWN PLOT DEVICE), STR 2 / AGI 5 / CHR 8 / INT 6"
-Looks like stats can range at least 2-8
-There are four stats
-Seems decently likely that we'll get flips.

"hacked and blown nearly to pieces"
-Probably more than one scum, unless we have some sort of wizard knight.
-High str (hacked) and high int (blown; either magic or explosives) scum?

"Mafia win condition: You win when your team overpowers other factions in numbers or votes."
-There may be more than one scum faction.
-Mafia might have some sort of double vote or vote cancelling power

More relevant speculation about Game:
-Stats are an odd thing to include; they might have some game effect. I'm wondering whether there is some sort of mod challenge where a party member needs to have a high enough stat; this seems like it would detract from the "Mafia" aspect of the game, though.
-13 total players. 25% of 12 would be an even 3, so we're probably looking at 2-4 scum, with 3 being the favorite. 2 is rather low, while 4 is a bit high.
-yog estimated game length of one month. Figure each Day lasts about 5-7 days. At 2 kills (Lynch, NK) per Day/Night cycle, we'd hit 3 players left at the end of the 5th Day/Night cycle, which might run a little over a month. Other kills and any protections can alter the time line. Yog probably figured lynches and NK's generally won't be skipped.
Trent and Sage: Desist in your attempts to lynch the mod. It didn't help the one time I know of that it occurred (in a game where I was Gollum), and given the flavour if we could lynch him he's just going to come back as Yogsloth the Tartan or some such tomfoolery. :P

Why go for the post numbers analysis? Has been proven time and time again that it has no correlation to faction.

Bookwyrm627: Yog probably figured lynches and NK's generally won't be skipped.
Hah! With yog skipping 2 NKs in a row last game, and lynches being skipped so often, I highly doubt that.

JMich: Why go for the post numbers analysis? Has been proven time and time again that it has no correlation to faction.
The post count analysis was to see who (if anyone) might be "lurking" right now. And then I realized I could run range/mean/median/mode, and I decided I really wanted to do that. So I did. I haven't done it like that since middle school.

Besides, providing SOME sort of analysis might help spur someone else to add/start something else. If we all posted like Leonard and Quadralien (zing!), then the game would stall very quickly.

In that case, either yogsloth's time estimating is off, or there are extra kills floating around besides the lynch and NK.

Lifthrasil: Re-reading this I can't help but wonder: was this an attempt at breadcrumbing about your stats?
Hmmm, breadcrumbing and suggesting we abandon our mission. I think my vote is well placed for now, considering that we are still in that stupid RVS and nothing solid is to be had. Would you care to explain, why you thought, leaving the ring and going home was a good idea?
Where am I breadcrumbing my stats? I actually did consider saying something about stats, my own and cristi's, but I neither see how that's scummy, nor more importantly particularly useful at this point.

On the other point, if you look at the prior game you may notice that I treat knowledge related to gameplay seriously (perhaps overly so) and flavor content generally not-so-seriously. Though Trent's owning a bar did throw me in light of the whole 'property owner' thing.

My view is that one might as well have fun with the parts of the game that are irrelevant to winning/losing. Though JMich is probably much smarter than I in that he goes through the day 1 RVS crap keeping his head down and saying just enough to be present.

Based on his role reveal post-game I think the implication was that at least the first of those two nights he was using other powers like the one that would let him show as town if investigated. The second night probably was planned to avoid getting into a 3-way with flub.

bler144: Where am I breadcrumbing my stats?
A wild guess would be your suggestion to do things 'mart, potentially hinting at high INT.

Except that I offset it by saying 'mart, thus simultaneously perhaps hinting at a low INT. Though I guess smrtwould have been better, it didn't fit the accent.

It might be funny to see Yogsloth dressed in a Scottish kilt, as long as he didn't try and play the bagpipes that is LOL
I can't speak for others, but that text is WAY too small for me to read, and I'm assuming the text is the important bit because I only see two dudes standing on a street corner for the picture.
Pre-post note:

If this ends up being some sort of weird, replicated, edited post, I apologise. I attempted to post something like it earlier, but I got disconnected, and wasn't sure if my post had gone through or not. Having given it some time (and allowing a few other people to post), I think it's safe to post here.

The actual post:

No, I'm not asking people for a scum list of sorts so that I can get investigated, and do not mean it in a scummy way. I feel as if I've talked extensively about how I often operate on gut feeling (especially on day one), but if you want me to get into it again here, I would gladly do so.

Honestly, I assume many of us, not just myself, have unfounded suspicions of other players from the off. It's built into the nature of the game: A murder (usually) occurs, and it is our task to catch however many people where in some way involved in it; in turn, everyone around us is a suspect right from the start, and we set about narrowing the list of possible candidates until we have found scum. I feel as if all I have done is ask certain people (as I have only picked out JMich and HijacK thus far, which was not, by the way, for some nefarious reason, but merely because they were online at the time) to narrow the list from,"Yeah, everyone at the moment," to a more manageable,"Well, I don't have proof, but these three people feel the most scummy to me."

Joking aside, I think that such lists can actually be helpful, in that they may give us some material, apart from,"Hey everyone, Vote: Random lol," to work with.

Having said all of this: Would any of you be willing to indulge me with a list?

If not, how does everyone think we should proceed? Please don't simply tell me,"Do as we always do: We're going to hunt scum!"

On to the really important stuff: I say that we shunt cristi's hobbit body into a side room (sans the useful finger, of course). That, or we tie the corpse to HijacK's back and make him carry it around, just so that we can hear him complain about it (because I'm cruel that way).

Yogsloth: If there isn't a giant spider at some point, I'm going to be upset.

It's still absolutely tiny, but is it that bit from Fallout 2 where you can have a full eloquent conversation with really low Intelligence with a similarly mentally-challenged NPC?
The party made themselves busy setting up camp. Despite the fact they had barely entered the ancient dungeon, they decided the best course of action would be to talk things out before proceeding.

For the most part, the discussions were friendly and light-hearted, despite the horrific crime that had been committed to poor Bobo. bler and Bookwyrm were seen measuring the dead hobbit’s fingers for “sizing purposes”, but other than that, the party were generally upbeat but unwilling to begin throwing around direct accusations.

During one particular lull in the discussions, CSPVG stood up quickly, shouting excitedly, “Hey guys! Check this out! There are all these little brown things all over the floor. If you stuff them up your nose, they sort of block out the worst of the smell! See?” He tilted his head up so his comrades could see that, in fact, his nose was packed nearly shut.

The embarrassed silence could be cut with a knife.

“….what?” he finally asked.

Sage broke the silence. “Dude. Those are rabbit pellets.”

CPSVG, a vague look of surprise on his face, removed one and examined it, turning it over slowly in his fingers. Finally, with a shrug, he stuffed it back in his nostril. “It’s all relative, isn’t it?”
