I got no issues with you guys, i need to state that upfront. I have had no problems with you guys.
Love the website and the services provided - though i do have a few ideas that could be done to improve the website a heck of a tone more then it already is. But that is for another day.

However, i sometimes pop over to the website "Trustpilot" website and just out of curiosity, i entered "gog.com" to see if and what people had to say about you guys.
I was a bit baffled at what people had to say about refunds - I have gotten a few refunds in the past, with no problem. So not sure what they are about.

It is, however, interesting to read through them nonetheless.

Just wondering if you are aware of the website.
We danes use it quite a lot. Rather common for us.

Anyone can write anything on there, be it a happy customer or someone whose salty they weren't given a refund, even if they weren't entitled to one. There's no bar between false reviews or honest reviews.
Reading the bad reviews it's fairly clear they are from people who assumed a Steam like situation, and particularly refunds.

I can't see a single bad review about anything else at a quick glance so I think it speaks more about people misunderstanding how GOG works and what it is then any issue with the site itself.

There's also people claiming they hadn't even downloaded the game yet and many who claim the game was broken but still didn't get a refund

Still a one sided story like Linko says, but there's sure a lot of them

Well I'm happy to call the first ones liars as I know GOG will happily refund any non downloaded game within the correct period.
As for the second ones, if they are unwilling to engage with GOG support to try and fix the game then they are not eligible for a refund, we see it on here too when people complain that the game won't work and all they need is to download a dependency or change a setting and it would but they won't.

Unfortunately online review sites tend to be skewed heavily towards highly positive or highly negative reviews as most people aren't inspired to review a perfectly ordinary experience. And I find the people who have a problem tend to review far more than those who don't.

Edit: Steam's reviews there aren't much better

Yet, strangely, Trustpilot seems to have good reviews on Trustpilot.

While, indeed, reading the reviews about GOG shows how crap and pointless this reviewing site is. "We danes use it quite a lot" ? Sorry about you lot. I certainly wouldn't use that site as a reference for anything, and it's a tad depressing to imagine that some people do.
Thank god my B&B isn't on there. :P

Steam reviews anywhere aren't much better :p

Certainly agree these are places people usually only go to to complain though, so it'll generally be skewed towards the negative. That said, that doesn't mean it can't reflect complaints people regularly have about a site, even if the overall score may be bullocks.

That can be changed!
I like especially this review for gog.com on trustpilot. I'll let that speak for itself:

Terrible game
Terrible game. The developers or players with hack codes rule. TTD ( one of the game players) seems to have lots of resources and hacks others don't have. Lots of players have experienced glitches or strange troop disappearances when fighting certain players. The game is a money pit...Do Not Join

Even if negative reviews are being left, what are the chances the common consumer would come across an obscure review website like that?

Even five pages deep into Google and three deep in a DDG search for just "gog", (sans quotes) I didn't see this website.

GoG, Do you care about your countdown clocks?

No, you don't.

Linko90: or someone whose salty
I've seen it done the other way many times, but this way it's pretty rare.

I could change that.
Quick, give me your B&Bs name... ;o)
Interesting because I looked up "gog.com reviews" also and many reviews were negative b/c of a misunderstanding about refunds, but at the same time most reviews on sites like SiteJabber are going to be negative b/c they're like places to vent.
