Geralt_of_Rivia: Thanks for keeping up the tradition. I do have one question though regarding rule 5:

#5 ... You can only request one key per post (even when asking for daggered keys) and requesting several gifts in order of preference is not allowed.

Wasn't the general concensus in the discussion to do away with that limit in regard to daggered keys? I understand that you don't want to process long lists of requests to grant the top game that is still available. But pretty much everyone agreed that having to post multiple times when you additionally ask for daggered keys doesn't make much sense.

So did you just forget to remove that part or is there a reason why you left it in the rules?
No, I wanted to keep it simple and just make it one game request at a time. It makes it easier for me to process the requests. Depending on how things go I may adjust the rule but for now it is one request at a time.
Just wanted to give a thumbs up to the after action report because it's pleasantly readable.

Indeed, more detailed than I expected it to be, and more easily readable.

It would be nice if we could have Wolfenstein: The New Order (×7) like before. And for daggered items as well. The latter has been requested before.

I can do that for the daggered keys but how I have the spreadsheet set up for non-daggered keys, it makes it easy to just copy the spreadsheet list and paste it to the gog forum after I've dished out keys to people.

I think this trumps all other considerations. Definitely make things easy for yourself!

Btw, I like the new grouping of daggered keys by type. Helps quite a bit with scanning that for anything I might've missed.

Yeah, I thought the daggered pile looked like a mess. The DLC and past freebie sections are sorted by name but the expiring freebie section I sorted by when each one was expiring first

Right now, it's seems to me like the best possible option, especially sorting by expire date in current freebies.
Perfect order in all three Daggered Keys sections :)
I agree that the new splitting of the daggered keys makes it much simpler and more organised when looking at what's there so that's great.

I also don't see an issue with listing games that have multiple keys available separately rather than grouping them with a number and if that also makes things easier for you to process then that's a bonus.

Keep it up :)

I'd like to once again suggest posting gift codes that will expire in under a day in the ninja thread.
Congrats to the new captain of the thread. Thanks a lot for carrying the torch further. Also thanks again to Lone_Scout for their service.

BlueMooner: C) No demand. DLCs and dusty games. Anyone gets them in any amount. No forum participation requried. Just want them gone.

gogtrial34987: (As long as this giveaway doesn't get the volume of keys that the Steam giveaway got) I strongly disagree. A bought key for a game which was shortly afterward given away won't see any demand for the next year or two. But I'd much rather have it wait another year beyond that, to then finally find a good home with someone who'd just started being active, than going to someone who has a good chance of eventually turning out to be an account-reseller.
I heavily concur with with gogtrial. No offense, BlueMooner.

Surely this proposal has been made in good faith, but... I can see no need at all to "get rid of keys fast". Someone offers a less known or niche game in the hope that it can bring to someone else the fun, even the joy that it once gave to the donor. It does not matter that it takes weeks, months, or a full year: What matters more is that eventually it will find a home with someone that will give the game a chance.

I also remember that people used to ask for games that they were willing to try. Apparently that is not the case with some people? The proposal commented above brought to mind a result of something that Lone_Scout did, again in good faith: giving an amnesty to everyone banned from the giveaway. One of the results was having a previously banned person making a shitshow in this very thread, talking about "leftovers" and generally behaving as a thoroughly self-centered selfish brat. Such a display of all that no one wants in the forum made me sick. It also gave me pause: Eventually said person was banned from the giveaway, but one could be left wondering how many of the giftees are now like that?

Seriously, if someone would be wanting to "get rid of keys fast", I doubt that I would ever want to participate in such a thread. I do not think that such an objective would help with the overall goals of the giveaway in any way.

My two cents.

Normally I would agree with you so that they don't expire but I don't know if the people who donated those codes would like me to drop them there. I suppose I could ask them but what does the rest of the community think about this? Based on your posts' high rating, I think most people agree with you.

I'd say that everything should be done to avoid codes going to waste. First waive requirements, then call for nominations, with all restrictions and requirements waived on both nominee and user doing the nominating, and in the last day, maybe last half day, put on ninja thread with minimal obfuscation, just to keep the obvious bots that won't actually use them right away from nabbing them. And if this would be a rule in case of expiring keys, then donors would know it will happen if not asked for by an eligible user in time.

The default action ( either to drop, or to keep the keys ) should be written in rules. If particular benefactor wants otherwise, that should be expressed explicitly in a comment to the donated key ( like the desire to stay anonymous ).

Such rule seems to guarantee simplicity, order and transparency.
